what about american companies, and people, that own property in other countries? lets say that the US decides to go ahead and raise taxes on foreign nationals that own property in this country, what do you think will happen to americans and american companies that own property in other countries? they may lose their property, or they might get taxed at much higher rates as well.
Other countries already do that. We have a net loss with just about every country we deal with, especially China. So much for reciprocity.

Not my problem. If it hits manufacturing maybe they will bring that back here instead.
Rent an apartment for a time being if you choose to do that, or get an extended-stay hotel.
I will go one step farther.
An amendment that you must be a US citizen to own property in the USA. You must be a USA citizen owned business, to have and do business here.
I could maybe accept a legal permanent resident buying a residential property and such exceptions. But here's the important thing, I'd want green cards to be handled out very rarely and very selectively. Not this 1.2 million every year crap to everyone from any where in the world.

Are you suggesting that this is not a risk for American foreign investments now?
And are you further suggesting that those risks ARE attached to foreign investments in America?

Nope! Only citizen own property, Foreign business has to import through a US distributor.
No they do not have the same rights to enter, live, work, remain, vote, buy a gun etc.
like i said there ARE certain rights they do not have, voting and gun rights are two of them, since these rights are reserved for citizens. HOWEVER, other rights like private property rights, equal taxation, etc. ARE applicable to foreign nationals IN THIS COUNTRY. they have the right to own property, as long as they have the necessary money, they have the right to remain silent, should they be arrested, etc.

Well it should up to the domestic citizenry decide what is best depending on the situation and circumstances. It can make a lot of difference who and why some one is buying property.
once again, we cannot violate the constitutional rights of people in this country. and teh constitution does apply even to foreign nationals here legal or not. as i have said before there are some rights not available to foreign nationals, and rightfully so, but we still must treat people with dignity and respect.
