Since 1950, the taller presidential candidate has won over the shorter opponent a majority of the elections. Other factors such as eye color and length of last name ( longer has advantage) are also factors but clearly height is the single most significant factor.
This particular psychology has been around for a long time. There have been studies done on who gets promoted in a company and the findings are that taller people are more likely to be promoted to the managerial jobs.

It's true that taller people have the advantage - but I'm not sure ANYTHING historically true will hold true in this race.
Depending on which side you're on, Trump is either automatically at an advantage or disadvantage because he's not a politician.
Couple that with the fact that when someone is commanding, his height can only work FOR him. When someone is alienating and polarizing, as both our candidates are, height may not help the taller person.
