She's a drama queen, waving her hands (sometimes fists) at the camera as if to give emphasis to her words. She may be smart and educated, but if she is then she knows she's skewing the picture and being deceptive. And that's not noble, nor honest, nor professional. That's being a propagandist. I dislike watching her antics, her rolling eyes, her grimaces and ridiculing facial expressions.

She's an animated editorial.

Who did you say is hostile to differing opinions?

If all MSNBC has left is the "kook" base: the gray haired senile hippy burnouts, drug addled outcasts, far left socialist misfits, its only natural they'll get a weirdo hack or hate merchant on to cater to them. Ratings and advertising don't matter if you have the establishment paying for your agenda.

i would argue that Every newscaster has done so. Maddow has admitted when she was wrong on air, and usually during the same show where as others simply post a notice on a page of their website and never mention it again.

Are you arguing the validity of what she reported, and if so, can you give an example.

I really rather like Rachael Maddow. I find her witty, interesting, and informative. She's always taking a look back at history and providing a LOT of context in the lead up to her main points and I like that. I rarely agree with her ideologically but I find her entertaining and she gives me a good insight in to what the other side thinks. She is someone from the other side of the ideological spectrum that I actually respect and think I could sit down and have a beer with. Also, she probably has the most integrity of anyone on that entire network, which I realize isn't saying much by MSNBC standards.
>>>> She has her agenda and her position and then she tries very hard to try to justify it. So she finds whatever she can to make her argument even if its usually out of context or tenuous at best. But she'll ignore glaring evidence and facts to the contrary which makes her sloppy and unprofessional, IMO. And she has this very annoying habit of talking down to her audience like they're idiots when she doesn't display any level of wit or wisdom herself. Its a toss up between her and Matthews who is the biggest bore. Matthews treats his show and audience like a joke and is very lazy and makes zero effort to do a professional job. I kind of miss the angry failed conservative Ed Schultz who despised his lot in life and lashed out at those who rejected him and the raging head case Keith Olbermann who hated people in general. They at least had some passion for their jobs. Hate is passion. I'm not sure contempt and arrogance is.
I think that's why CNN and MSNBC are not very successful. Fox has people that believe what they sell and make the effort to appeal to their audience. MSNBC and CNN have a larger proportion of third rate hosts that are only in it for the money and aren't paid what they want so they just phone their jobs in. Not that their audience would even notice. Mercenary journalists. The truth doesn't matter.

Is it a liberal thing?

Her style, in one word: snarky.

With all due respect, Rachel Maddow cannot be considered a legitimate journalist. She verbally bullies those who hold opposing viewpoints and she shouts out her bias all the time. And how amazing it is that she is never ever wrong. She is always right about every single subject she discusses. What a joke. It is embarrassing. It is recommended you obtain the news elsewhere.

She's not a journalist. She's a commentator and therefore held to a different standard. It seems like pure journalism is dying in this country, it's hard to find any news outlet that doesn't have slant or bias. Fox pretty much represent the more right side and just about every other network is the left side. I think CSPAN makes an attempt to be more in the middle, but I've only watched it a few times. IDK, I hate we've slipped into this sorta thing. It seems like way back in the olden days when we only had a few channels and there wasn't a 24 hour news cycle you had guys like Cronkite coming into your living room once a night and dispensed what appeared to be straight news, at least from what I can recall from news clips and all, I was really little, this is back in the 70's and earlier I'm talking about here.

Rachel is a poser.

Her schtick is a faux-intellectualism, put on with speedy factoids and irks
of no real consequence.
