Blacks make up only 13% of the population of this country, but commit over 50% of the murders. While twice as many whites are killed by police every year-yet you see no massive crowds of whites rioting and looting when a white thug is put down.

In all races though the criminal element is a pretty small percent-there are far more good blacks than bad. Our "justice system" is a joke with all races-we play catch and release with thugs of every race far too often. And pay the price with innocent victims. We need to increase mandatory sentences with no options for parole, and expand 3 strikes laws. Ideally those would become federal laws.

Raid! National Guard, State Police descend on*81-year-old

Can anyone argue that we are using our law enforcement funds in a sane and rational way? I condemn poor police actions all the time BUT I support locking violent criminals up for as long as need be to keep them from harming others but the complaints are always how we can't afford to hold them.

We can't afford it because we are doing stupid things like above. What does it cost to send out the National Guard over some pot plants?

Stop the police from stopping people over stupid things like a broken tail light trying to find a little pot and get them onto the streets investigating actual criminal actions. Even then, we have to demand they do it legally.

It's long been my opinion that if people weren't being harassed over the small stuff that they would be more willing to help with the big stuff.
Most good felony arrests occur on traffic stops for very minor offenses... But please..do petition your state legislature to change the motor vehicle code and associated codes... We are at 40000 plus here in California

Well...get with it then east coast
We deploy the camp helicopter for overflights of grows of interest..identified by the MIS system.. many of these flights are co mission flights. Where the Blackhawk is a training flight anyway...good training for our warfighters don't you think? Depending upon the area they still have to avoid doper ground fire so it gets very real..

But all this is going by the wayside as the drone program gets expanded under prop 64 funds...
Agencies want better and cheaper local control anyway...and want better mission tasking.

This doesn't mean a fast rope group of highly trained people might not descend upon some remote grow..but most of them will already have been mapped anyway...and if you're in a no outdoor grow county..and many are to some extent..the drone can easily spot you.. it's the massive indoor illegal grows that will get targeted. They get identified by snitchrs..imagine that ..dopers snitching...and of and e bills... Mass purchases at farm supplies and chemical companies

We just passed a butane law...and we are working with internet suppliers to stop mass importation of canisters... Again..follow the money

Thankfully Monsanto and con Agra will be changing tbe landscape ...and while I'm not a fan of either...it's all about the money

Thanks for the Benjamin's... We sign on the dotted line for the vacation cabin this week in a non marijuana friendly area and county outside this goofed up state...five year short term note..it's all about the money

Steve leaves behind his wife...an arson and explosives detective, his two sons, a daughter, and his mom

For those you actually interested in how exhaustive the review of police shootings are... Here you go...

Whenever a Deputy Involved Shooting occurs involving Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies and it results in the wounding of a suspect, multiple independent investigations immediately begin at the scene. These include separate investigations by the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau and Internal Affairs Bureau. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department immediately notifies the Office of the Inspector General who sends a representative to the incident scene and provides independent oversight throughout the investigative process. The mission of the Office of Inspector General is to provide strong, independent and effective oversight of the Los Angeles
County Sheriff’s Department and to ensure transparent, accountable and constitutional policing for the County of Los Angeles. The Critical Incident Review panel convenes to perform a preliminary risk management analysis of the shooting. This panel is comprised of the concerned chief and unit commander, risk management and training personnel, the chairperson of the Executive Force Review Committee, and a representative from the Office of the Los Angeles County Counsel. Every aspect of a Deputy*Involved shooting is ultimately evaluated by the Sheriff’s Executive Force Review Committee, which determines whether there are any policy, tactical, supervisory, or training violations or concerns. The Office of the Los Angeles County
District Attorney also participates in the investigatory process and conducts a legal analysis of the shooting.

29 years in service, about to retire.

Another family ruined by criminals.

Lets make it very clear

The shooting occurred as deputies were responding to a burglary report in Lancaster, about 70 miles north of Los Angeles. Owen was one of the first to respond.
Authorities heard gunfire over the scanner, thinking this was when Owen was attacked and shot.

a brave man killed by a low life. A dark day of humanity.

They play catch and release with all races, except black! The fact that the shooter in this case was a parolee... for what? What did he get jail time for?? I don't know, but I know that if he got parole, then whatever he did was trivial. Trivial. Another race of offender would have got no jail time at all. So now he is an ex-con. His life is trashed. Completely trashed. For BS. I don't know... probably wouldn't make me execute a cop, but I don't presume to speak for everyone. You are completely wrong. We need to get rid of mandatory sentencing, because they are a crock anyway. You have a million plus black men rotting in prison and 700,000 of them didn't do anything worse than have three blunts on them in a zero tolerance state. That should stop. In many cities with black communities the police don't stop cars with drivers of any other race except black. A white driver can go their entire lives without ever being stopped by police. Ever. Any black driver in the same city will be stopped a dozen or more times in their lifetime. Male or female, young or old. Being black the only commonality. Duh... they will find drugs sometimes, or they will find that the driver has no insurance in force. And they will go away. For a long time. That's the way it is now and you want to ramp it up more. Go ahead. When you have managed to extinguish the life of the black community you will realize that we were never your problem. You were ours.

Here's the inside story

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) homicide investigators have learned that shortly after 12:00 p.m., Lancaster Station received a call of a residential burglary occurring at a residence located in the 3200 block of West Avenue J*7 in Lancaster.
Sergeant Steven Owen, a 29 year veteran of the sheriff’s department, was the first of two responders to the residence. In an active attempt to preserve life and property and establish a containment, Sergeant Owen positioned himself to the rear of the location. The suspect encountered Sergeant Owen, produced a handgun and opened fire, striking Sergeant Owen. A second deputy arrived on scene and encountered the suspect who had entered Sergeant Owen’s patrol vehicle and was attempting to commandeer it. At that point, a deputy *involved shooting occurred. The suspect then rammed the assisting deputy’s patrol vehicle head* on before running from the scene. As a containment was established for the apprehension of the suspect, it was learned that the suspect had entered yet another nearby residence occupied by two teenagers. The scared teenagers then alerted the sheriff’s department that the suspect was inside their home, putting into effect an immediate rescue plan.

Already on scene, a special weapons team from LASD’S Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) made entry to protect the lives of the teenagers who were in danger. As SEB made entry, the suspect exited the rear door of the residence and less than lethal devices were deployed to ensure that the suspect could not re*enter. At this time, the teenagers were successfully rescued to safety. In a continued effort to avoid apprehension, the suspect then climbed over a wall where he was confronted by deputies from Lancaster Station. He was then taken into custody. The suspect, a male Black adult on active parole, was struck by gunfire in the upper torso and
transported to a local hospital for a medical clearance for booking. He is believed to be from the general Antelope Valley area.

A weapon was recovered and although it is early in the investigation, investigators are not currently looking for additional suspects. Investigators continue to evaluate multiple scenes related to this crime and there is no additional information available at this time.

During this difficult time, it is important to remember and appreciate the heroic efforts by those who are called upon to keep the peace. In this case, Sergeant Owen was killed in his efforts, making the ultimate sacrifice.

Yes, I totally agree.
