The costume is sold at Spirit Halloween, which has pop-up shops in cities across the United States and Canada. The “Reservation Royalty Native American” costume consists of a fringed dress and a feathered headpiece.
Many people have flagged the costume for cultural appropriation, but it’s still for sale online and at Spirit Halloween’s physical stores.
“I really didn’t think that I would still see such costumes,” said Danika, a woman in Victoria, British Columbia, who tweeted out this photo. (She did not want to give her full name.)
“There’s been a lot of education over the last few years about why these kinds of costumes aren’t OK, and I am sad that the message hasn’t gotten through yet,” she told BuzzFeed News.
Danika added that there’s a large Indigenous community in Victoria, making it extra insulting for the company to sell such costumes there.
I plan on going very non-PC and dressing up as a Confederate soldier this year.
And btw, my town is my "safe space" where you can wear the rebel flag, wears shirts with guns and ammo on them, and completely trash Obama, BLM, Hillary, ISIS, the idea of men entering women's bathrooms, and nobody will have a problem with it!

Halloween is the time to be scary, sexy, offensive, funny, whatever. This has been and will continue to be silly.
