Corporations big and small. Big farmers looking for laborers. Even small time contractors looking for day laborers. They all want open borders and unrestricted migration back and forth. It helps keep wages and benefits costs down. And with illegal aliens, not only can you pay them less, you do not even have to worry about medical insurance, disability or unemployment benefits.
Yes, there are some on the far left who want to change society or others on the far left and the religious right who care about immigrants. But I think the primary motive is that money and power talk and the Establishment make a lot of money keeping the borders as open as possible.
Actually the primary motive is life long voters, it's the liberal way! Cheap labour is secondary! Look when the Syrians first arrived, you had Truduh, Orville Redenbacher and John Tory all rushing to welcome the new immigrants!

Multiculturalism and antithetical to our society and our culture. It's essentially the Balkanization of a nation.
Whether something is considered ethical or not is primarily based on one's value system and perspective. In the case of a multi-cultural society, the primarily opposition comes from white nationalism and people that sympathize with them and have Alt-Right beliefs. The United States culture is a mix of many different cultures. We've come into our own while absorbing aspects of different cultures from around the world. We're a nation of immigrants.
While calling something "antithetical" is a catchy term and accepted by a certain homogeneous subculture within America, it doesn't pass intellectual scrutiny!
In a national polling partnership between CBC and the Angus Reid Institute, 68 per cent of Canadian respondents said minorities should be doing more to fit in with mainstream society instead of keeping their own customs and languages.
The same question was put to Americans, with only 53 per cent of respondents saying minorities need to better adjust.
The Canadian response represents a hardening of attitudes away from multiculturalism over time.
