A quick Twitter search reveals dozens of messages posted by Americans living in or near the affected areas that brazenly talk about the opportunity for looting that the hurricane will provide
Care to post anything actually factual telling us just HOW you know whether they even vote at all and HOW they vote?

I don't understand it. Disasters happen frequently in Japan, and looting is so rare there.
Why is looting so common here? The only thing that even somewhat prevents it is the threat of looters being shot. In Japan, people are capable of civilized behavior without the threat of violence.
