Here is some good ole Patton common sense:

Speaking of Jews, "lower than animals...a sub-human species without any of the cultural or social refinements of our time".
PMF wasn't talking about Patton's line about Jews. Believe that.

Yes, Patton was a racist scumbag but a good general.

Mac Aurthur was pretty close in character, but , if its possible, perhaps a bit more arrogant and definetly more I different to the lives of the men in his command. Witness the island hopping campaign.

Patton was far better a commander to field against Rommel than was Montgomery. That is certain. Monty was no match for Rommel. Tank warfare was Patrons game, and he was at a disadvantage against far superior German equipment. But he made it work. He was a typical general of the times. Flamboyant, in his riding breeches and ivory handled Colts, a d a personality you could grind high carbon steel with.

Personally, I would have rather served under him than either Mac or Monty.

sorry OP but you are wrong. remember this date august 7, 1945. if you dont know what happened on that date look it up, and then realize that if germany had not surrendered months before, the events of that date would still have happened, only in a different location.

I know he wasn't. Trying to get everything off blacks for awhile.

As you stated Patton was a unmitigated racist,

Yes, Patton's brand of racism would not be tolerated today. Fortunately, with the notable exception of this forum, that brand of racism is on the wane.

No need in even trying. They're obsessed with blacks and blacks only.

Liberals hate strong men like Patton. That's why they love Obama. Obama, if alive back during WW2, would have never risen above the rank of corporal.

First of all, the United States would've won the war without Patton, and Patton is a general that i admire greatly.

However, he was an unmitigated racist, and by denying African Americans a chance to fight, it cost whites thousands of lives.

Better yet, his "common sense" ran counter to facts that he already knew about African Americans in combat because he knew damn well that blacks were among the best (if not THE best) troops in the First World War... a war that he fought in. The French made that very clear when they made sure to HEAVILY decorate African American soldiers for their bravery in WW1.

So, what "common sense about people" are you talking about? And please, don't talk around your statement because we both know what you meant.
Other than the Tuskegee airman, what black unit fought on the front lines?

Therefore all generals/admirals were racist according to you.

Really? I mean, do you guys EVER think about what the hell you're saying?

Patton's own colleagues...ALL of whom rose above the rank of corporal (they were flag officers like Patton), couldn't stand him.

Were they all liberals too?

I have often wondered how General Eisenhower put up with the gang of narcissistic monomaniacs on his staff and in political power commanding him. They were, with a couple of exceptions, more interested in winning after the war than while fighting it. George Patton was just one of the more flamboyant examples.

Lightbulb If we would have fired General Patton for his mouth we would have lost the war..

Nope!

Matter of fact, Ike DID fire Patton, putting him on the sidelines and only returning him back to action in the closing months when the outcome was already certain.
