This is not liberal vs. conservative claptrap.

If half of current jobs go away and there are no replacements, what is supposed to happen?

If this does occur, the tired arguments of liberals vs. conservatives go out the window. What we know about economics goes out the window.
Correct. It would possibly be the greatest economic paradigm shift of all time. The entirety of society would have to be reordered.

What? It sounds as though you are an employee, and have always had health insurance provided for you. People aren't currently chained to their employer for healthcare. I don't agree with the current law, but it requires those not otherwise covered or exempted to buy individual plans on an exchange, and the insurance company is required to accept you and your pre-existing conditions.

No matter how much you wish the USCON to be a 'false banner', it isn't.

Re your text above, 'to many people' is incorrect....'too many people' is correct.

Well, what is stopping you from contacting those you consent to govern you and let your feelings be known. An Amendment declaring higher education as a right and government using the vast revenues they have to pay for it all.

Got a clue for those that feel education is a right, or should be. If government has to provide it, it is not a right, but only a privilege.

My ghod, I actually agree with you, again.

I'm afraid the transition to automation and smart robots is likely to result in massive crime and starvation. The social safety nets will fail or not be in place long before the masses are protected.

Already I just read where 62 people own as much as all the rest of us, combined. All wealth is concentrating in just a few hands. At some point that money has to be redistributed. Or money as we know it, has to just "go away."

Like on Star Trek - nobody starves because they just go to the replicator and magically a steak dinner appears. Someday automation will allow us just rearrange molecules into whatever we want. 3D printing is a beginning.

Someday mankind will be able to indulge again in exploration and study and recreation, instead of hating and killing each other. And instead of killing ourselves working to feed ourselves. All that will be done by robots and machines.

And then the machines will rise up and kill us ALL!

It's called Unemployment Insurance.

Sorry, Hillary did away with Bernie, it's over.

Medical treatment after 65? You mean the fund people PAID into for decades? You think that's somehow "free"? You really have no idea how things are paid for what so ever, do you.
Since you so strongly feel that people are born without rights, then you should advocate a heavy fine for every time a couple brings forth a child. After all, this world is becoming too heavily populated with people thinking they were born having some sort of rights.

This is likely be a dilemma in the future.
Goods can only be sold if people have money to purchase them.

One thing you can count on... robots will make lousy consumers.
Excellent points!
