I'm talking about jobs like in Engineering, Tech, Mining, Shipyards, Construction, Ditch Digging. You hardly see women in those jobs because they have no interest in them. Plus companies these days have strict harassment policies and if someone violates them, they would get fired.

Feminism was foisted upon us all in the most disingenuous manner purely motivated by the greed of the Rockerfeller family.
Gloria Steinham was given a check of several hundred thousand dollars to get the movement off the ground in the 1970's.
Evidently, the Rockerfeller's in all their globalist wisdom, saw the great untapped potential of nearly half the population in terms of new tax revenue. A massive bloc of the nation who would not only provide greater tax receipts but also increase consumer expenditure for businesses across the land. Feminism was born.

To think the origins of Feminism were derived from the desire of betterment and advancement of women is a fallacy. Somehow many millions of women fell for the seductive marketing of sexual freedom and gender equality. The beating of the feminist drums kept the spirit of rebellion alive and kicking. The chains of oppression were finally off. A new and battle ready power bloc of women would enter the workforce and were not going to be removed any time soon. The dye was set and a job well done. America and later other Western nations had a new market of consumers who would increase the coffers of both corporate interests and govt tax revenues alike.

The roots of feminism are a lot deeper than Gloria Steinem.

Feminism 1960's 2nd wave onward was a combination of opening up the workforce to allow equal career opportunities and rights and pay to women so that they could have financial independence and contribute family and society and legally protecting those rights and opportunities. Financially and legally oppressed wives, girlfriends, mothers, daughters and sisters that wanted equality were free to have sexual relations without the shame and worry of unwanted pregnancies that would doom them to dependence and have them at the mercy of men or the state. Feminism has given women a level playing field with the same permission to engage in the same perversions, debauchery, deceit, manipulation and political control that men have been accustomed to by default. It has taken from men their birthright. That is why so many hate feminism.

Marital rape was legal until the 90s at the latest in the US. It's finally illegal in all 50 states. Let's just let that sink in. Until recently jurisdictions usually did not arrest or charge/prosecute abusive spouses or boyfriends unless the abused woman wanted them to and cooperated - and she often didn't in fear that her abusive SO would hurt her more. Now many jurisdictions will move forward with DV cases even if the victim is not cooperating.

This is why (more modern or not) feminism is a good thing.

And don't say "but men are abused and raped too!" Yes they are. But not nearly at the same rate as women are at the hands of men.

No he couldn't. I have asked throughout this thread multiple posters to please give more specifics to their vauge claims of how feminism is doing XYZ and even who the leaders and voices of feminism are. and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz z. No responses yet.

Engineering and Tech jobs or STEM is a relatively new field opening up for women. We are seeing more and more women entering these fields and at a faster rate.

As for the other jobs you mentioned well a lot of men dont want those either. What is it some claim "jobs Americans wont do....."

I can remember when I was in Elementary/middle school and there were segregated employment adds and watching films on careers for men and careers for women. I remember after High School I had a friend who had married and when she applied to a secretary position at a local Insurance Agency was told she would have to get her husbands permission before she was hired. I went into the field of Biology and when I first began it was very discriminatory and difficult to get a job.

If feminism had ceased in the 60's these things may not have changed or at least not to the extent they have today. There are no longer gender defined job positions, wives dont have to get permission from their husbands to get a job and people aren't discriminated against in their career field due to their gender. There maybe/is some work that needs done in regards to the third point and there are still areas like I mentioned before, like women's health and reproduction issues that are being challenged.

The civil rights act ended racial discrimination also, but we still have special interest groups that address issues that affect particular races and cultures. Attitudes/behaviors remain long after laws are passed.

That's because there's more men than women in the world, especially in America. They end up dying earlier than women, which stats show more women than men over 60. Plus there's women in elected offices today and they help make those decisions too.
