Having children,or not, is a personal choice. Why should those who choose to have children, regardless of income, get more tax relief than those who do not? Everyone needs to have skin in the game.
I agree. And couples should now be encouraged to only have one child. Our world is way overpopulated with people. So any tax breaks should be for having one child. Any more than that and no more deductions on the tax forms.

And we should be greatly curtailing the number of immigrants the US takes in. We need to take care of our own first and stop worrying about those in other countries.

None, Taxation is theft.

So why do they pay less? Why do they get tax breaks for using more services? And the same is true of the poor. Why do they get tax breaks for using more services?

European and Scandinavian countries do exactly the opposite. They tax regressively while then also providing more services to those with children and to the poor. But they don't tax them less.

Be sure to read the tax progressivity charts.

Anybody that thinks our poor benefit the most from government largesse has not looked at our Defense spending or the pharmaceutical company's rip off of government health insurance. These are our real Welfare cheats! This is, of course, acceptable because the recipients are both White and Wealthy. Truly the Chosen People.

Sure doesn't look like it.

FY 2016 total US government spending on welfare - $1.084 trillion, including $610 billion for Medicaid, and $474 billion in other welfare.

US Welfare Spending for 2016 - Charts

FY 2016 defense spending - $829.1 billion

US Defense Spending for 2016 - Charts

We already have an extremely costly underclass. No need to import additional low-skilled, under-educated foreigners to further clog the welfare rolls.

The people rejected those primary candidates who favored a more regressive tax system.

Neither candidate favors a more regressive tax system.

Maybe next time......

While I agree I do not call it cheating.

Defense and Big Pharma have substantial lobbies and politicians tend not to bite the wallets that feed and may very well employ them, going forward.

Big Sugar, Corn and Grocer all lobby for SNAP spending.

Everyone should pay something. It is tilted very unfairly against childless taxpayers. Some families making decent incomes pay nothing because of child tax credits and even receive earned income, money they never even paid in.

At least min wage should qualify for full health insurance subsidy, while those making more, but still low income, have to pay full price. Min wage worker may qualify for food stamps although childless poor never qualify for much. The working class lower/ middle class worker with no children, no write offs, no subsidies is most likely to get pummeled.

More of this "childless people get the tax shaft" garbage that was thoroughly debunked (by poster Chad I believe) last time is was brought up. Most child related taxes are paid on a local level. So if you don't want to pay child related taxes then move to a state or local area with crappy schools and low local taxes. There are plenty of them out there. As for federal tax, you can go ahead and claim the crappy per child deduction as long as you pay the taxes on the hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars in income that both parents and one child will pay into the system per child in his or her lifetime, and secure enough money to pay someone to take care of you in retirement (including paying your social security and Medicare benefits).
