We talked for quite a while and got along really well. There was a lull in the coversation and we both just sort of looked at each other and smiled. I had no overt invitation from her but I knew if I was going to act, that was the time to do it, so I put my hand on her thigh. Her smile got bigger, she bit her bottom lip a little and we both leaned in and kissed each other. I don't have to tell you where it went from there.
My question is, if I had misread her signals and she had pushed my hand away when I placed it on her her thigh, would I have been guilty of sexual assault? What if she had gotten so angry that she stormed out of the room or slapped me in the face? Would I now be unfit to run for the presidency?
That would depend. Are you running as a Dem or Rep?
At this point I think I'd have to run as an Independent. But of course you're right, it would depend on what party I, or anyone, was running on wouldn't it?

You also have to remember, it doesn't matter how she reacted that night. It depends on rather some time in the future she decided she didn't "give consent", no matter how willing at the moment. My advice-get a signed consent form ahead of time. And of course video tape the whole encounter, since she can revoke consent at any time. Even 10 years later.

lol Then you get found not guilty of sexual assault but guilty of filming a sex act without permission. A guy just can't win anymore!

Yes, but you are probably too intelligent to want to run for president!
It would also depend on whether or not anyone was drinking.
If she was drinking, you'd be guilty because she wouldn't have control of her faculties.
If you were drinking, you'd be guilty because you didn't make the best choices and had no control of your faculties.
If you were both drinking, you'd be guilty because it would become apparent that you wanted her to lose control of her faculties, while being able to lose control of your faculties.
Its just not safe to do stuff like that anymore. Best thing to do is have your parents arrange the marriage.
