I can't answer that in this case yet.
Well with that answer never become a police officer. You weighing the pros and cons while someone is pointing a weapon at you is going to get you dead quick.

What if they are waving a toy truck?

If I knew they were waving a BB gun, I'd feel pretty secure I would be OK.

Very sad, but judging by the picture it looks pretty real from a distance, I find the shooting justified.

Seems pretty simple to me, drop the effing weapon, regardless if it was a BB gun or not. Play stupid games win stupid prizes. I feel for her family and for the person that pulled the trigger.

Can you dynamically decipher the difference between a real gun and a BB gun? If you have that knowledge and can determine that in less than 1 second please start teaching at the police academy.

This didn't take place in a matter of one second.

I've got a bb gun that can kill you. Still want to play that game?

I have a peanut that could kill. She had a small handheld cheap BB gun. Did the officers know that? I do not know.

They shouldn't have to. You point something that has the potential to kill at someone you are going to get shot. I can call the cops and say someone has an airsoft gun and then shoot them all with a glock and a painted red barrel tip.

She had a weapon pointed at them. How long do you take when you have a weapon pointed at you before you respond? You seem to be dodging this question over and over. Unless you have video of her not doing this you are siding with a criminal which is "SOP" for you.
