I know that this forum is usually about politics, but it also involves "other controversies," so I am creating a controversy by getting people to argue over the relative coolness/funniness, or uncoolness/unfunniness of the following people or groups, some of whom are politically related. Therefore, this thread is completely on topic and should not be closed.

Michael Moore

Chris Rock

Sarah Silverman

Elvis (was he really the king of rock'n'roll or did he just steal it from black people?)

The Rolling Stones (are they still cool or should they just stop playing already and give it a rest? I don't even listen to them, but I have to respect their stamina.)

My uncle Art

Salvador Dahli

Leon Trotsky

L. Ron Hubbard

Andrew Jackson

Jesus

Che Guevara

Aristotle

If you want, you can only choose 3 but you have to choose at least 3. Scratch that, at least 5. (Insert smiley faces here).

I'd say that:
1. Elvis just 'stole' the title of being the king of Rock & Roll from the black people.

2. The Rolling Stones are over the hill, but I'd never tell them to stop.
But unlike R&B Rock & Roll should be reserved for the young people.
I mean in R&B, Soul and some other music genres age is like wine; you only become better the more you age, but this is certainly not the case for Rock & Roll or Punk.

3. Salvador Dali is not only funny but also a genius, cauz I love his quotes:
Quote:
Have no fear of perfection - you'll never reach it.

There is only one difference between a madman and me. I am not mad.

The first man to compare the cheeks of a young woman to a rose was obviously a poet; the first to repeat it was possibly an idiot.
Salvador Dali, from Dialogues with Marcel Duchamp, by Pierre Cabanne, 1987, pp. 13-14
4. I don't know your uncle Art so I have no opinion about him.

5. I don't know Sarah Silverman but because she's the only woman in the list I'll assume she did somethin' good.

She's with Matt Damon:

Michael Moore - sometimes funny, but too sloppy and too much ego

Chris Rock - sharp, incisive, funny

Sarah Silverman - off/on. the video was on. she's got guts, but I didn't like it when she picked on Britney's Spears' kids.

Elvis
(was he really the king of rock'n'roll or did he just steal it from black people?) - he stole it. but he burnished the crown.

The Rolling Stones
(are they still cool or should they just stop playing already and give it a rest? I don't even listen to them, but I have to respect their stamina.) They should at least give it rest for awhile. Just do a few benefits now and then. How can I miss them if they won't go away? And how much more money can they possibly need?

My uncle Art dunno

Salvador Dali those were funny quotes from Tricky. I like the melting watches metaphor.

All of the men below were revolutionaries in their own way, weren't they?
Some might be thought of as clever opportunists, others deluded, maybe others were tools?

Leon Trotsky

L. Ron Hubbard

Andrew Jackson

Jesus

Che Guevara

Aristotle

From what I've seen of Silverman and Rock, I thought they were pretty funny, probably the latter more than the former.

I've heard some say that Dali is overrated, but I'm impressed by him.

I'm on the fence about Michael Moore. I'm inclined to agree with him, but when I watch one of his documentaries, I wish it was more balanced.

So Sarah Silverman is a stand-up comedian? I thought she was just the latest fling of Matt Damon.
Anywayz stand-up comedians always get 3 thumbs up from me no matter how funny or unfunny I think they are.
