Claiming the 5th was always against self incrimination. Since when can you claim the 5th for a job investigation/ hearing for which you are not charged criminally!

Who else wants to try to use that defense....and get away with that.

Poor suckered in prison who tried it once and are sentenced and sitting out their sentence.

Care to supply any facts describing what you're actually talking about or is it you believe anti-Clinton whines require none?

It tells you a lot about the integrity of a poster when they think a spelling error is more important than government corruption.

What does it tell you when the OP contains no information of what it's actually about?

You can claim the 5th on anything. It's your constitutional right. If they are investigating another person and interviewing you, why would you implicate yourself as an accessory to that crime or other crimes? You don't have to plead the 5th, you can just not answer the question and it is the exact same. Our bill of rights is to be respected even if it is clinton sleezes. Pleading the 5th does not make you immune from prosecution, it simply means you do not have to speak when it may self incriminate you.

At least that's my take.

Here is the proper way to start and support a thread:

Title: "Trump's Attorney Asks Judge To Exclude Donald's Statements From TRUMP U. Trial"

As it well known, Donald John Trump is facing a class action civil trial over Trump University. In an odd legal twist, Mr. Trump's attorney has filed a motion with the presiding trial judge to exclude from the hearing any and all statements that Mr. Trump may have uttered during his presidential campaign.

The attorney (presumably a Trump supporter) argued that Mr. Trump's statements during his campaign “carries an immediate and irreparable danger of extreme and irremediable prejudice to defendants, confusion of issues and waste of time.”

So! Mr. Trump does not desire that his own statements be used against him. Hmm. Seems like there is a topic about this somewhere, something about the right against self-incrimination......

Well, they can be held in contempt if they are granted immunity or a wavier in the circumstance and then refuse to testify. This is the problem if you have a corrupt investigating office as they can very easily "not" do something which would allow the witness to plead their way out of the situation.

While pleading the 5th does not make you a criminal and that itself can not be used against you, keep in mind that most times when the 5th is used, it is because the witness was doing something illegal as a part of the case or in some other means to which testimony would reveal. Make no mistake, these are people involved in criminal action.

I would guess that it's a double-secret probation thing, or the OP is going to make it up as he goes along. The truly neat part is that he has people defending him before anyone has supplied any information whatsoever. That's loyalty.
