And all this could have been avoided had the thug shown a little respect , and removed the headphones after being asked by a person of authority. That is the problem, these a$$hats do not respect any kind of authority. How will this play out in his future ? Probably not well I'm guessing.
This is exactly the reason why many don't want to get involved or won't say anything in these types of situations. Unless you're like 6 foot 6 and 300 pounds of pure muscle, or all tatted up looking like a hardcore gangbanger.
This is the new mentality of thug behavior. Don't "dis" me in any way or I will punch you. No wonder nobody wants to be a teacher anymore. I am sure this thug will spend the majority of his life in the "graybar" hotel.
New?
Similar stuff happened while I was in high school back in the 70's.

Actually, this kind of attitude is nothing new. Read Thomas Sowell's essay Black Rednecks and White Liberals. This "don't dis me or you die" kind of attitude was very prevalent in the Deep South going back to the 1800s.
When people add the 'but'...they justify the action. That's part of the problem.
There is NO justification for what this kid did to this man. And the principal had every right to remove the headphones. Let's not act like that's inappropriate or assault or anything other than exercising his authority.
Saying the principal shouldn't have done that is the second part of the problem.
