The GOP senator tries to imply that because Duckworth is part Asian, her family's contributions towards military service for this country that goes all the way back to the Revolutionary War is some how lessened.
The worst part is that Kirk thinks he somehow made a clever remark, and the only thing you hear are crickets chirping after complete shock to his insultingly racist remark to which he is completely oblivious.

Chalk that seat up to another loss for the GOP.

He's toast anyway, this is just one more narrow opening or crack, typically one that admits light in his armor.

Sorry, I tried to be more concise but it ended up displaying as unintelligible asterisks.

I have this to say. If you want votes from a certain group, do not do anything to alienate them.

No, he doesn't. He's calling her on her statement that her family has served going back to the revolution. In response to that he said, 'Oh yeah, I forgot your parents family came all the way over from Thailand to serve under General Washington.

He was unaware her father was or is of American heritage. I didn't know either.

Ignorant for not being better informed and assuming, but certainly not attacking her heritage. Geeze.

Isn't he the guy who falsely claimed he served in Vietnam, and a few other things, a few years back?

Politicians are supposed to know all the oppo, provided by their opposition research team, on their opponents. This just makes him look even worse

Just an update

"Sincere apologies to an American hero, Tammy Duckworth, and gratitude for her family's service. #ilsen," he tweeted.

He apologized. Should just let it go. He didn't know, now he knows. Problem solved.
