I guess in California buying food at the grocery store is just not good enough.
Los Angeles and San Francisco also have a wide variety of restaurants that allow EBT.
I guess the state of California prefers people spend $10 on a 3/4 pound chesseburger and mega large french fry and onion ring combo as opposed to $10 of fresh produce at all the super cheap grocery stores they have scattered throughout the area.
So much super-cheap produce in California and places that have bulk-selection items that $10 of fast food could buy a basket of produce.
A California family of a husband and wife and 3 kids can get up to $9,200 a year in CalFresh to buy fast food if they want.
CA, the Democrat only, 1 party state, has so many people in poverty, it must have this, which is really a universal income. People who live there have no hope of rising up the ladder, most are immigrants, and with head of household jobs leaving and not being replaced, the state has nothing else it can do. For example, your middle/upper class life in whatever state you are in, will be replace in CA with a working poor/povery line job. You, as the middle class, are the persons who would need these benefits.
Remember this when you vote because California is an expression of the democratic party.
Proof. When? Where? How? I'm looking forward to the proof that starving people by withholding social safety nets creates jobs, fixes the economy, etc in order to facilitate the end to welfare and food stamps. I'm waiting. And not so patiently.
Can someone please explain to me what is so wrong about handing out basic nutritional foods instead of allowing a free for all in the fast food restaurants? Model it like the WIC program. The ones who truly need the help will be grateful and the ones who are milking the system will find a way to get their junk food on their own dime.
Wellll...usually such acts (allowing the use of food stamps at restaurants) is reserved for transient/homeless people. What is so wrong about handing out basic nutritional foods to these groups? They have no place to store it and no place to cook it.
I was at Costco and in front of me there was a woman .She had cases of soda and every possible junk food in her cart ! All salty snacks and junk! It totaled over 300 then she paid with her ebt card . Can someone please explain to me ?If you on food stamps , how the he'll do you afford a Costco membership ?
Ever heard of borrowing a card to shop at Costco?
This woman who bought $300 worth of junk food might have also been buying it for somebody else. You never know.
What gets me is why are you so concerned about she bought? If she does qualify for EBT/ Food Stamps what business is it of yours as to what she buys?
That's her business not yours.
It's funny how people are against any Food stamps because it's big Government then you want to impose a "big Government" restriction on what they should eat !
True. It's amazing how many people don't realize that the majority of the poor are people who are either unmotivated, or have a history of bad decision making. Many of them get through life doing the bare minimum. And when there's welfare, the bare minimum is nothing.

Please prove to me when hunger has motivated the economy, job creation etc to aid in the cessation of welfare programs. I'm waiting. Still not patiently.

Maybe she was borrowing someone's card.
Maybe she was shopping for her kids' school PTA organization or her church.
Maybe she had the membership before she needed food stamps.
Nah, **** it. Lets just say she's a lazy ***** who just doesn't want to work. That's easy and fun and makes us feel better about ourselves.
According to the Obama administration, what you can eat with food stamps is not appropriate for you to eat at school... ironic..
