I was just thinking about the hypocrisy of them trying to get those bonuses WITH INTEREST after the guys actually did what they were supposed to do.
According to that Reuters investigation:
For two decades, the U.S. military has been unable to submit to an audit, flouting federal law and concealing waste and fraud totaling billions of dollars.
Linda Woodford spent the last 15 years of her career inserting phony numbers in the U.S. Department of Defense’s accounts.
Every month until she retired in 2011, she says, the day came when the Navy would start dumping numbers on the Cleveland, Ohio DFAS…. Using the data they received, Woodford and her fellow accountants there set about preparing monthly reports to square the Navy’s books with the U.S. Treasury’s…. And every month, they encountered the same problem. Numbers were missing. Numbers were clearly wrong. Numbers came with no explanation of how the money had been spent or which congressional appropriation it came from.
you really can't make this stuff up about the incompetence anymore, and it's about time that changes.
I am glad at least people like Mr. Bill O'Reilly cared

It won't change, as long as not giving them as much money as they want, is considered, anti-military or anti-american.
BOth parties (and all those in those parties) will roll over, just to prove that they support the military.
In the same breath, that he claims the military is a disaster, Trump constantly touts, his plan for boosting defense spending.........
The problem with govt budgets there are way too many hands in the soup, and they have time frames. So the appropriate say $100 and give you until sat to spend it, if your item is not in stock - they move that money. Then if the item never comes in, they cancel the request. But the money had moved / so now it's missing. It's a cat and mouse game because they themselves can't say ok if sears do not have it/ just go to JCPenney . Or we'll gonna cost $100 for a tire, get 3 estimates , by then it's the end of the budget year and a new one not been signed. Eventually the money trail will show where it went and prob not a tire, but for a ladder.
Government budgets also play with the numbers inbound.
When multiple agencies conduct a joint investigation that results in a conviction and a fine, each agency claims credit for the fine. A $10 million fine reported by four different agencies winds up being reported as $40 million inbound.
Of course, they're off by $30 million, but no one seems to notice.

...and they do this so they can spend money they do not have!
It's fraudulent accounting and any of us would go to jail for doing it. Hell, any of us would go to jail for all the sht these politicians get away with.
