The link to the high-retail sales per-capita is at census bureau factfinder.

It just collects several times more tax revenue at the same rate that a normal city would.
What's libertarian about any of that?

I can't figure out how the OP found something positive in that article. It's not flattering.

Few kids = less school tax. Reminds me of that town that was all elderly, prohibited kids and had low taxes.

Oh how cute. Mr Liberty using emminent domain to get rid of some property owner standing in his way. State subsidies. This is crony capitalism.

He's more than welcome to try and use eminent domain to take the rug store property but I wonder if he realizes how long that can take when the people you're trying to force out decide to sue over the eminent domain rights.

The most recent case tried before SCOTUS took over 3 years for a decision to be made. Hope his developer is willing to wait.

You are correct that there are few children in Glendale, maybe 600 or so under the age of eighteen. The school situation is interesting. Glendale is an island surrounded on all sides by the city and county of Denver, yet the kids attend Cherry Creek schools in Arapahoe County. (Glendale is part of Arapahoe County.) It's kind of weird. There are a couple of enclaves like this in the Cherry Creek District. It would be interesting to get the history. I'll have to do some digging.

Glendale is not libertarian, it is crony capitalism to the core.

It's all about entertainment.

Glendale is completely surrounded by Denver. It's is known as the rugby capital of the US due to its statium.
It is .6 square miles with many strip clubs, bars, restaurants, late night weed shops and private smoking clubs.

Average age is 28 and 52% of population is male, college- aged. There are only 2 single family homes. The rest are rentals. Studios start at about $1000/ mo. Children tend to be immigrant offspring.

Voter registration drives feature free beer and strippers.

The mayor lives in a castle- themed wedding venue outside Glendale and owns a strip club, late night weed shop and a church.
