Somebody, THOUSANDS of years ago, realized that owning someone and getting them to do work for you, could be VERY advantageous. That person is the "inventor of slavery, not Murrrrrrca.
Exactly. It isn't a competition, as there is none to be had. Being a white immigrant to the U.S. was not the same as being a descendant of slaves under Jim Crow. Communities were burned to the ground, scores black woman and young girls were raped without consequence, many lynched etc. White immigrants could struggle to survive without the worry of it all being taken away due to their skin color. Far better is true overall.
Well they did have accents and broken
English so you could tell but women are still battling
slavery. Even slaves beat their women. Sex slavery is alive
and well, even in the U.S.
There is a lot of people who still need attention. It's not that I don't think history has it's place but how about we deal with the existing slavery.
Mormon girls in the four corners
Runaways
illegal girls
there are a ton.
(THE COLLEGE FIX) — For 11 years, Professor Duke Pesta gave quizzes to his students at the beginning of the school year to test their knowledge on basic facts about American history and Western culture.
The most surprising result from his 11-year experiment? Students’ overwhelming belief that slavery began in the United States and was almost exclusively an American phenomenon, he said.
“Most of my students could not tell me anything meaningful about slavery outside of America,” Pesta told The College Fix. “They are convinced that slavery was an American problem that more or less ended with the Civil War, and they are very fuzzy about the history of slavery prior to the Colonial era. Their entire education about slavery was confined to America.”
Mexico imposed slavery on Native Americans into the early 1900s. See the Mexican-Apache wars and books by Dan Thrapp. The early Spaniards immediately imposed slavery or genocide on Native Americans. One classic novel centered upon the historical reality of Spanish slavers hunting adolescent Navajo girls. http://images.paperbackswap.com/l/98...0881038798.jpg
Prior to that, slavery occurred in other parts of the world in a variety of ways. It was not uncommon for the English to enslave the Irish and Scottish - hence there were many wars. The Ancient Roman Empire had slaves. It goes back a long time.

The Romans did use slaves, however in terms of what became England, Serfs were agricultural labourer bound by the fuedal system of slavery which tied them to working for the land owners estates. Feudalism was common thrughout Europe in medieval times.
The wars with the Scots were for numerous reasons, and not really the result of slavery, it was more to do with disputes between Royalty and different factions, until the Acts of Union in 1707.
The English were also invaded numerous times by the Romans, Vikings (Dane Law), Anglo Saxons (Germanic), Normans (French), Dutch etc
