LOL-the welfare given to Israel does no "good" in the World. It is mostly used for war, bombs and killing people.
As our nation continues to degrade we give record amounts of money to one of the richest and most militarily advanced nations on the planet. We can't afford healthcare for our people or education (which Israel does), but we can apparently give BILLIONS to Israel and TRILLIONS to nationless corporations and banks. Obama has done nothing notable or commendable-he is doing nothing different than any Puppet before him.
It would be commendable if he ended the wars in the Middle East, cut all economic/political ties and brought our young men and women home from that Hell on Earth region, that will bring us all down with it.
Isreal gets most of its aide from communities in NYC, Fort Lauderdale/Miami and LA area. Thier is no need for a 38 billion dollar and aide package for the state of Israel from the Feds.
Israel has been the single greatest beneficiary of US financial aid going back 70 years. Over the years debt was written off and aid was limited to mikitary financial aid.
In 2007, Bush Admin agreed to a ten year, $30 billion package that allowed Israel to spend 26% on military equipment acquired from other countries including made in Israel.
Of course it was not enough to please Israel's PM. The House invited him to address Congress. Sheldon Adelson and wife attended the event. She dropped her purse off the balcony to make sure everyone knew who was in the House. He the guy wo donated $100 million to the Romnet campaign and hosted $50,000 / plate fund raising din- dins in Israel and expected Romney or Ryan to attend and they did.
If the US is going to give, at least this agreement required Israel to use the funding to buy stuff from the US and prevents the PM from lobbying Congress for more. It's a handout to the military industrial complex that depended on federal government spending and financial aid to foreign countries.
Lindsey Graham's attempt to get for money for Israel and continue to allow them to spend a portion of it as they see fit, ensures Adelson will continue to donate to his campaigns going forward.
I suspect aid to Israel is one initiative Trump won't condemn.
Taxes are high in Israel. In exchange the people recieve world class Universal Healthcare and university education for qualified students. Taxes would be even higher if not for the aid from the US. Swell that we can help enable other countries to do more for their people than we do for our own.
If it were up to me, I would welcome every Israli citizen to immigrate to the US. Last one out, throw a match.

Much of the private funding comes from Christian organizations and is used to build hospitals and schools.
How can the U.S. afford to give $38 billion in aid to Israel when we are trillions in debt? Imagine if President Obama pledged that money to improving our infrastructure or helped our own people.

Seriously, with so many people here who've got no health insurance, and/or are homeless or on the verge of it.
Another 38 million to keep our own Military Industries busy and making good profits. This is a very effective welfare plan for stock holders and executives.

So the American taxpayer is forced to subsidize the industry. Not what I consider "making an honest living". I suppose you support bank bailouts,farm subsidies,automaker bailouts, welfare, and other various redistribution schemes. They are all the same.
FYI Israel is wealthy enough to purchase its own weapons.
