Last December, I predicted that the GOP would be happy to ride Trump's coattails into office with THEIR choice of Veep; banking on the probability he won't complete a term before resigning or being impeached.

Well Pence was the Republicans choice, and he's a career politician, a member in good standing of the 'GOP-E', and (unlike Trump, apparently) very much the social conservative hardliner.

So, how long do you give Trump in office before the Republicans decide he's served his purpose and throw him under the bus? My guess is less than a year.

The passive-aggressiveness is strong with this one.

I doubt that will happen. The libertarian wing of the GOP would never go for it.

They don't need the libertarian wing. They need the democrats, and just a few republicans.

The OP has a point.

Trump is the outlier here. His VP is a VERY conventional Republican who sold you Rust Belt whites out and threw you under the bus. You have a Speaker of the House who is part of this wing, and Trump is serving at the pleasure of Paul Ryan. Mitch McConnell I believe, is Senate Majority Leader, another establishment Republican. These guys have been around the block. Out 2 and 2 together. I'm sensing the white working class is being led off the cliff yet again

Nah. I'm not happy with this decision but I don't go much for conspiracy theories. What will happen will happen but I just can't believe anything this organized could be this secret. Somebody would have squealed by now.

I would say Pence could very well take over next summer when Trump loses his rape case and gets 10 years in prison.

Yes, the Democrat party torpedoed Sanders to put in their hand picked establishment candidate, but that doesn't prove the Republicans will follow suit.

repeat these words after me . I declare that "President Donald J. Trump" will be the 45th democratically elected president of the United States of America.
