Except those are not GOP values. You people have spent years, particularly the last two years, ( with the full throated power and influence of a friendly media, academia, and pop culture at your disposal ) trying to convince America that the GOP is racist, sexist, bigoted, xenophobic, and a whole lot of other "ist's" and "isms", and on Tuesday, America called you on your BULL!!!
If Liberals don't eat their humble pie NOW, change coarse, and start actually finding ways to compete in a marketplace of IDEAS instead of trying to win the day on identity politics alone, then it will inevitably be force fed to you again sometime in the future.
This democracy is already a marketplace of ideas. There's no way not to compete over ideas. You submit an idea to the branch of government and representatives debate and compete over whether that idea will be implemented.
Shall we talk about which party fought to retain slavery? Shall we discuss which party the vast majority of the KKK guys doing all the lynchings belonged to? It's funny how a lie can be repeated often enough to be taken as truth. What you call GOP values are actually Dem values through our history.

The Dems were the party of the slavery South through the Civil War and on until the 60's. Loyalty to FDR created the yellow dog Democrat phenomenon of a Dem voter so loyal to the party he would vote for a yellow dog if he ran as a Dem. Then something happened, the ONLY thing that could have made a yellow dog Dem abandon the party of FDR.
Equality for blacks .
When LBJ signed the Civil Rights Act, he signed the death certificate of the Dem Party in the South . Some left and formed the Dixiecrat Party, and by the time of Reagan the South had switched totally to GOP, and remains the Solid South that the GOP is built on today .
Sure the GOP was the party of Lincoln, when the GOP was a northern party fighting AGAINST the South to end slavery, and later to give equal rights to blacks during the Jim Crow era.
But don't be so foolish as to pretend the current GOP based in the Solid South out of former Dixiecrats is the same party Lincoln headed .
This is the biggest crock of crap I've read in quite some time. And I've read a lot of it here from libs.

Geez dude use your brain for something other than memorizing Limbaughisms. Nobody EVER said this all happened under Obama . Learn to think about what you have read before rushing to post . It will save you a lot of embarrassment .
Of course you and the others didn't hear much lately about these issues , or David Duke . That's because liberals defeated your conservatives ancestors on these things, and the (then) liberal ideas about minorities and women became normal mainstream concepts you grew up accepting as the way things are . But your conservative ideological predecessors vigorously fought against these things , but lost . That's the way it works . Liberalism slowly advances , dragging protesting conservatives kicking and screaming the whole way, until the next batch of conservatives grow up considering the liberal ideas of the past as the norm of today . In 20 yrs no newly minted conservative will give one crap about whether gays get married or not , since the conservatives are losing this battle as well and future conservatives will grow up accepting gays as just a normal part of society .
At some point liberalism WILL die out from the simple fact it succeeds to the point it puts itself out of business . We get closer every year , and eventually we will get there , over the screams and wails of current conservatives .
But NOBODY suggested Obama accomplished all this .
Sure, Republicans have won elections lately....but the culture is where it's at. Everything else eventually flows from that. And you still OWN that--the media, entertainment, academia, public schools, etc.
Little by little, you work the country leftward....incrementally....every year.

Sounds great. Now how about shutting down the loopholes Trump used to not pay taxes for like two decades?
Fine, but don't be so self righteous about it, plenty of liberals - including Clinton - exploit those same "loopholes" (otherwise known as following the law). But of course people who only hear what Huffington or MSNBC spews wouldn't know that.
