I dunno about the first part although ...

Agree Mr. Trump surely had nothing to do with the release of this one!

Donald Trump Tax Records Show He Could Have Avoided Taxes for Nearly Two Decades, The Times Found

Quote:
...Donald J. Trump declared a $916 million loss on his 1995 income tax returns, a tax deduction so substantial it could have allowed him to legally avoid paying any federal income taxes for up to 18 years, records obtained by The New York Times show.

The 1995 tax records, never before disclosed, reveal the extraordinary tax benefits that Mr. Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, derived from the financial wreckage he left behind in the early 1990s through mismanagement of three Atlantic City casinos, his ill-fated foray into the airline business and his ill-timed purchase of the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan.

Tax experts hired by The Times to analyze Mr. Trump’s 1995 records said that tax rules especially advantageous to wealthy filers would have allowed Mr. Trump to use his $916 million loss to cancel out an equivalent amount of taxable income over an 18-year period. ...

I really do not care about his tax returns.
I do not even believe we have a real "Need To Know" anything about his business dealings.
Yes, he is rich. Yes, he can afford to hire the best possible tax accountants and lawyers to ensure that he pays the absolute minimum that he can legally pay. If that turns out to be ZERO income tax, at both the state and Federal level, good for him. That money he paid the lawyers and accountants was money well spent, and it will be tax deductible next year!
I did not care about obama's taxes, either.
The only tax return that has any importance to me at all is MINE/

I agree with others. When Hillary shows the 30,000 missing emails than Trump should show his tax returns.

But where is the left asking for the emails?

We are waiting to see these emails....?

It's more than a little shady to refuse to release tax returns.

I wouldn't say shady, in the way that means he's done something wrong.. But.. I tend to concur that for transparency, they should generally be released. Along with medical information. summary data is fine on both.. I don't need to know line items for tax returns. A basic "Income was X, total tax paid was Y" is fine.. Just as a basic health report, that lists anything SERIOUS. I don't need to know that Candidate A was diagnosed with massive hemorrhoids, but I do want to know about brain tumors, COPD, or something that could kill them within 8 years, or 4 at least.

My guesses on the Trump tax returns... Either the charitable contributions are next to nil.. Or.. He LEGALLY paid no taxes several years due to losses, but the average person wouldn't understand that and it 'looks' bad.

I said it before.. Anyone who can produce a legal, legitimate tax return that shows a box stating that they want to donate extra money, above what they owe in taxes, to the US Treasury, and has filled that box out.. Post their tax return showing that and I'll send them a nice, crisp, new $20 bill.

I'm betting my money is safe.

Almost a $billion loss is an obscure tax deduction?

A $billion loss demonstrates successful business practices?

To paraphrase Mr. Trump's dismissal of Senator McCain's military record:

He’s not a business hero, I prefer folks who don't lose almost a $billion dollars.

Default Tit for tat

He went on a Birther campaign to force President Obama to release his birth certificate so why shouldn't the American people demand to see his Tax returns?

Trump asked "what is Obama" hiding? So what is he hiding?
It's called hypocrisy !

PS: Honestly after today's picks for his Cabinet the last thing I'm worrying about are his taxes at this point.
