Technically speaking, all American socialism is based on consent.
No law compels volunteering to be a citizen, nor signing up with FICA.
“The Social Security Act does not require an individual to have a Social Security Number (SSN) to live and work within the United States, nor does it require an SSN simply for the purpose of having one...”
- - - The Social Security Administration
What that means, is that we already have the means to END ALL OF IT....
Withdraw consent. Leave FICA, and all related privileges.
Caveat - Once sufficient numbers of "human resources" leave and cease being "contributors" on the public debt, Federal Reserve Notes ("dollar bills") become undercapitalized (one of the reasons for the open arms to illegal aliens to "join the herd"). In short order they lose fungibility. Unacceptable. Objectionable.
...
"Federal reserve notes are legal tender in absence of objection thereto."
MacLeod v. Hoover (1925) 159 La 244, 105 So. 305
...
Billionaires become Zero-aires.
D'Oh.... !
And coining all the gold in Fort Knox only amounts to $9.35 per capita.
D E F L A T I O N
Going back to gold coin is going make prices precipitously drop to match the quantity... perhaps 5000:1 or more.
$250,000 house => $50 in gold coin
(Looks more like "MONOPOLY GAME" prices from the 1930s)
In case you weren't paying attention, America has suffered hyperinflation since the 1930s. Wiped out the value of savings of the little people, while enriching those who fed on usury and ever mounting debt. Naughty, naughty.
Paul Ryan once again floats the idea of ending the Medicare system as we know it. He wants to go to a private insurance system with subsidies for seniors (hmm, private insurance with subsidies: in other words, turn Medicare into Obamacare).
Privatization is a trojan horse: it opens the door to cutting benefits by cutting or limiting the subsidy. And, knowing Ryan, cutting Social Security is next.
With Trump's election the public has been awakened. Politicians like Ryan are a dying breed, either they just don't know it or more likely they still think that they will be able pull the wool over the middle classes eyes.

Trump is appointing Wall Street insiders to positions of power who support privatizing social programs to further enrich themselves. So please explain how Trump is an improvement as this is quite puzzling.

no it doesnt.. it opens the door to allowing people to pick and choose what benefits they need, while cutting the cost for those which they dont.
I don't like Ryan. Ending Ryan should be on the table. I believe he wants to cut and screw up Medicare and Social Security. But he also wants mass immigration of workers and globalization. He's always advancing schemes to squeeze everyone who isn't independently wealthy or 95% plus of Americans to benefit his rich donor class.

its what ACA should have become....
Individuals can't do that unless the insurance companies write policies that allow them to do that...
The insurance companies basically wrote large sections of the ACA which is one reason it is failing to serve the needs of the people...
The Congress had YEARS to reform and create a better, more functional health coverage plan...but there was NO interest among Republicans for doing that...they desperately wanted it to fail and when the Supreme Court allowed the statesto opt out, the failure was basically assured...
If you think that insurance companies will voluntarily cut a 20% profit margin (the ACA gives them that) and provide voluntarily a better product for individuals that would cost less for policies, have lower deductibles, and better provider options you are just not aware of how businesses work...
When has a business voluntarily reduced its profits to provide a better product ON ITS OWN?
Until you can show a legitimate example, please don't come back with any pie-in-the-sky comments about how privatizing Medicare or the ACA will make life better for Americans...
The fact is that Paul Ryan and the Republican Party do NOT believe that government is a force for good...
They would dismantle almost every aspect of government if they could...
To have them in charge of a system they purport to hate is just axiomatic self-destructive...

So what? Trump has to hire people who know the system to make it run right. I trust that he won't let these people hurt his base, or he'll sh1tcan them like he did Christy.
