It's really simple, when you take big government out of it completely, any consenting adult can marry any other consenting adult(s) they choose.

When you give the government the power to allow you to do something, other people can pressure the government to deny it to you.

If a gay couple head down to the Catholic Church and ask the priest to marry them, the priest will tell them, "No." So they head to the Methodist Church and the minister there says, "Yes" and marries them. Pretty simple stuff there. Why does the government need to get involved in that?
The government is NOT getting involved in that.

Catholic churches can still say no and Methodists churches can still say yes - religious freedom.

But the state must not discriminate when it comes to hetero and homosexual marriages. There is a difference between legal marriage and religious marriage.

The truly sad part of all of this is that the cruel identity politics game liberals, Dems, and the DNC play has set all the gains made after the Civil Rights movement back 50 years.
I'll be honest. I have no idea what you are talking about. I don't know why you are comparing the right to marry with safe spaces and I have no idea what you mean by "identity politics game."

Other than that, the state needs to stay out of our bedrooms.
LMAO How could you say that is leftist? It is the rightists (not all) that want to tell people what to do in their personal lives.

Marriage is a contractual relationship and as such should not be restricted in the United States by religious doctrine. If two consenting adults want to enter into a marriage contract it is none of my business.

So service can be denied for race, religion, gender, supporting the wrong sports team, or wearing an ugly necktie?

I think this could become problematic...

I am in favor of marriage equality.

On the campaign trail Donald Trump said he wants to appoint Supreme Court justices that will overturn it. It can't happen overnight because there are still 5 justices who voted for it. Besides the Supreme Court has a long history of not reversing their own rulings for many years ... they do not like revisiting the same case.

I'm not a lawyer, but if marriage equality is overturned I wonder if the same-sex couples who are now legally married will see their marriages nullified? Or will their marriages be "grandfathered" in?

Not a huge issue. A business can lose customers who can go to the same business adjacent to it who serves customers the other business rejects.

As far as hospitals not many private hospitals. Private hospitals have been selective in services they do provide.

To avoid the issue with insurance if State's created a State base open health insurance market ensuring everyone received equal care.

Some want business to put a sign who they don't serve. Some feel this is still too much oversight by Government, but I think it's better for a business to be transparent.
