I think Russia is seeking a stable international situation in general. Stability brings prosperity for all concerned, stability is everything. The actions of the US and NATO in the last 2 decades have led to chaos and misery for millions of people. Russia and China seem to want it to stop.

I agree with you, the bold.

However,

I think the seeming admiration shared by the two (Trump and Putin) is based on each of them thinking that they can easily control or manipulate the other. When Trump sees that Putin is not a business associate that he can dominate, things will not go well.

Trump is pretty unpredictable.

Hopefully the neoclowns won't infiltrate the Trump admin., but it's not looking good.
Hillary would have continued the global waring.
OMG. I'm actually agreeing with you on something. The nightmare
isn't over.

This is why I don't see a place for John Bolton.

The (George W.) Bush Administration wanted war with Iraq. Reasons are variously debated. 9/11 was used as the justifiable reason to invade, but the desire for war pre-dated 9/11.

At least Trump was right about this, Iraq was a total disaster.

The UN as always had a UN Peace Agreement which cause further problems during Bush II. Iraq were still shooting at us in the no fly zone and did not comply with their end of the peace agreement!

At least, President Trump already saved us from a war with the Russians. This is a war we cannot afford or win. President Putin is a patriot and his people love him. I think he is a great leader. Putin that is.
Funny you say that, I bet if a liberal were to say that, you any every other conservative would call that liberal a communist, but when a conservative says it, you guys are cool with it. Ain't that right, comrade?

I personally think it is a huge mistake to get into bed with the Russians, especially when a president who will be a puppet for Putin.

Probably. I think I am biased. But deep down, I would say they are right. I just won't admit it.

The war in Iraq was less than $900 billion under Bush and the country was at peace. Barry lost the peace and blew over $3 trillion trying to re-fight the war.
