Mexico has less than half the violent crime that you folks enjoy in the US.....Violent crimes and rapes per million people, US 274.04 vs Mexico 127.08..........You have a serious problem which you seem to be ignoring.
It's like when people say america has the most people in prison when China and India with over a billion people each don't give their real incarceration rates.
But there are many instances in which you have to prove you are who you say you are before you can exercise your rights. Like voting--you have to be 18 and prove you're a citizen; permits to exercise your first amendment rights--like parades and concerts; I believe a woman obtaining an abortion has to provide identifying information. There are many, many more instances. Should all those requirements be done away with as well?
You're asking permission to impede on traffic with parades and protests. That means you're on someone else's property so you need to ask for permission. As for voting, they don't run a background to see if you're a felon. And I don't believe abortion is a right.

If I'm not mistaken the aurora shooter was wearing an assault vest which isn't bulletproof. Even if both cases are correct you realize that these incidents are extremely rare. Of the mass shootings we've had only a fraction was done with armor. This the same with guns. Are we to punish all for the sake of a few?

And we kicked the undesireables out in 1776, and that is why we will keep our guns. In case we need to do it again.
