There's no way Canada would open their doors to free travel from the loons that live in California.
Loons? Canada legalized recreational marijuana and physician assisted suicide in the entire country! I wish we had more loons like this south of the Canadian border!
It's way, way overdue for this country to be split up like what happened in the break-up of the Soviet Union. California is the same size as Germany, the 7th largest economy in the world, and if they also bring OR & WA into the fold, into a country called Pacifica, they'd be the envy of the world and other parts of the U.S.! And, why not bring Baja into the fold as well!
And if Washington gets testy about it, pushes their weight around, has the military step in to prevent it, I'm sure Putin will come to their rescue! After all, we applauded the break up of the Soviet Union, and Putin will be the loudest applauder!
"Hey! Need some help? Washington threatening to bring in the military to stop the secessions? What do you need? Tanks, bombs, drones?"

Recreational marijuana is not legal in Canada, but I hope it will be soon.
Ummm.... No. That was Washington and Oregon. Recreational marijuana is still illegal up here (unless you have a pot card), but our pretty boy PM is allegedly going to change that sometime next year. I am sure the Aboriginals will love him for it when they take over that industry much like they have the cigarette industry.
Funny how they choose the majority White European country which is still part of the British commonwealth. I would have thought they would rather become part of Mexico given what they say about the rest of the USA.
