Why Democrat or Republican??? (parties, money, democratic)

Why do people continue to subscribe to either of the two parties when most everything either of them say ends up being not true?

It seems to me like the Democratic party and the Republican party are only really concerned with making money for themselves and they use each other as a tool to do so.
