Why? Who cares what Russians think (except Trump, who wants to appease them). US has been on path to becoming the largest oil producer on the planet and it was welcomed by everyone here. I never heard anyone complain.

Everytime I have a cup of water in Texas, it tastes like hell.
I visit Houston all the time, and some hotels have horrible water (undrinkable), while some others the water is ok. Don't know if some hotels have some kind of filtration systems.
Eventually the Middle East will go back to being a completely unimportant backwater that we will no longer need to worry about. The only value they add to civilization is oil and the cons that come with it are overwhelming.
Natural gas has literally obliterated the oil and coal markets. The problem is not a lack of supply. The coal mines will simply never be economically viable again.
As for the boom in fracking shale oil, well, the article I quoted speaks for itself.
Coal prices will recover once we burn through all of the newly-discovered natural gas.
Remember back in 2008 when we were worried about running out of natural gas and building LNG terminals to import gas from the Middle East?

WRONG: Israel will still be there to worry about.
