In my 56 years of life, I can't recall such a political divide that I am witnessing. Religion, race - those divides have been around a very long time and although better than the past (maybe), they will inevitably always exist. So has political divide, but this is as bad as I've ever seen (I won't speak for pre-1960).

Not just here on C-D, but in the media, the news, everywhere. There is all kinds of hate, anger, gloating, finger pointing, fear, elation, etc. It's not in unison, but as if this country has two big buckets, one filled with the left and the other the right (which Hillary called many deplorable - the beginning of her demise). Will the KKK march with Trump/Bannon signs? With these protests continue and Trump supporters physically assaulted? Will this stupid petition to have the electoral college put Hillary into office please stop as Trump won with the system in place. His campaign strategy proved he understood the system. During campaigning and the general election, a divide is normal as two sides are battling for one seat and the supporters push for their candidate. But that time is over. The fight is done and Trump's arm was raised in victory. Time to get down to business.

The best way for this country to be with the 2 party system is to have extreme left & right (expected), but a majority of both sides wanting to lean towards the middle for balance and a United States of America. Instead, it appears that more people are drifting to their extreme's and away from the middle. The sad part is that Trump hasn't even taken his oath yet, and isn't officially president. He hasn't enacted any legislation, hasn't even assembled his administration yet, but people are ASSuming things picking apart every little move currently being made. And I find it disheartening that Obama and/or Clinton aren't speaking out in outrage of the violent protesting. And Trump's "Stop it" isn't enough. If the protests were peaceful, and not invasive into others lives (blocking streets, etc), than that would simply be people exercising their freedom of speech.

I sit in the middle. It doesn't matter who I voted for. That was me exercising my right to vote. I do accept Trump as my president because he is, plain and simple. If I hate it so much I can leave the country. I don't care what was said in the past by Trump or anyone in his administration, as they are just words. And even if you don't agree with the actions of the new regime in the past, it still doesn't matter now because Trump is in charge and he has stated he is for all the people. So Trump hated the electoral college in 2012 per his tweets (I wish he would get off social media). So Bannon was CEO of writings linked to white supremacy. At this time all I can say is that was then and this is now. What happens from here on is what is important. The impeachment trail is always there if Trump royally screws up. But in 4 years we could see a better government and better infrastructure. Time will tell that tale.

So for now, this middle of the road person is (you=Trump):
