Anyhow, I would assume that Don Jr. either heard from his father that he did express such 'hope', or, conversely, that the son believed Mr. Comey to be more truthful than his father. I, of course, hope it is the former. I would hate to think that Mr. Trump would spin falsehoods to his own children.

Did you even listen to Comey's testimony? It raised more questions about Comey's veracity than anything. But his statement absolutely did vindicate Trump.
I'm not sure why you Leftists have a hard time with understanding the language. Either you just don't listen carefully, or you have serious language deficiencies. Anyone who actually listened to Comey quickly picked up on the many inconsistencies and contradictions. But he was clear: President Trump was not under investigation, and he had told him so (listen again to Marco Rubio's questioning of Comey). He also agreed that there was no attempt to obstruct justice (even though as President, Trump has the authority to end an investigation).

He said Trump wasn't being investigated at the time. That didn't mean he wouldn't be investigated in the future since many of us staff are.
