A grieving Stewart Perry said that he and his family were forced to tears again when an announcement giving them special privileges on a flight elicited jeers from fellow passengers.
He told the Daily News that he, his wife and his daughter were delayed on an American Airlines flight from Sacramento to Phoenix, and were allowed to leave the plane first so they did not miss a connecting flight that brought them to the East Coast so they could reach Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.
Perry said that other passengers in the first class cabin hissed when the captain mentioned that everyone needed to remain seated because family and "military personnel" needed to leave, and added that he believed that at least some passengers had been told that the family members of a fallen soldier were aboard.
lol SOME people believe that just because they can fly first class, they are better than everybody else.
It is not a big deal that you are in first class, sheesh, keep your stupid ego in check already. Nobody gives a sh*t.
Money sometimes, cannot buy class.
All these being said, I don't know the details of the story. In my experience, most people in first class are very friendly polite people. Most keep it to themselves. The story is certainly strange to say the least.
Does American Airlines extend the same courtesy to anyone who might miss a connecting flight for other reasons?
I certainly wouldn't boo or hiss or even be angry with family, but the worship of all things military is tiresome.
I also don't hink it has anything to do with arrogance. First class passengers pay extra for privileges, one of those being priority de-boarding. Maybe those folks had connecting flights to catch?

Why would they be taking their son from Chicago to somewhere else? I'd think they'd be taking to Chicago.
I edited my post because the article stated it originated from Sacramento. I read someone was from Southern Illinois, not sure if it was the son or one of the others who were killed in the bomb.
They were on their way to get their son's body.
