HAHA!! First of all there have already been threads on this at least 2 or 3 and they are already 7 - 10 days old. Also, do you know that out of those 4,535,934 supporters... do you know that people have signed that petition in countries such as Canada, Brussels, France, Japan, etc.
I do not think that is possible, due to IP blocking based on geographical location, but we could ask some of our European posters to try. Blocking double entries would also be fairly easy.
No, I did not know there were threads about this. I opened this when someone asked me to sign.
I love this system. Its you who has a problem with it. Of perhaps you just don't understand the system......
I knew my candidate would get only about 2-3% of the vote, and I was right. The country is no ready for a 3rd party.
I have no problem with the system. It worked like it was supposed to do. The founding fathers knew what could happen and set up the system so it is fair. Leave it alone.

Yes, I insist on leaving it alone, and I have never suggested it should be changed in any way. I like it the way it is.
Why do you behave like someone is trying to change it?
It seems clear you do not understand what they are trying to do with the petition.
So, you can say "the system worked as it was designed to", but not that the system is democratic..because it isn't.
So where was all the faux outrage when Obama was elected by this "undemocratic" system? If the electoral college was flawed from the onset, why have there been no calls for change since its inception?
My understanding is that the electoral college was created so that all states have an equal say in the leadership of the union. Without it, the more populated states would have all the say and the votes from the smaller states wouldn't make any difference in the outcome. As such, it is very possible that the Union could quickly start to unravel as a result.
As for all this post-election moaning and bitching... Seriously, just let it go. Protesting the result because you don't like the candidate who won is akin to protesting the outcome of the Super Bowl because your team didn't win. Furthermore, it doesn't matter how many people cry on TV, how many start pointless riots are started or how hard you pray to your deity of choice, the results are in and Hillary Clinton is not winning the Lombardi this year. If you want to call for change so next election you have a more desirable system to elect your leader with, please go ahead. However, much like recount controversy with the voting booths used by the state of Florida in 2000, I very much doubt that is going to happen.
