Police spray North Dakota Access Pipeline protesters with water cannon - Business InsiderAfter months of protest against the proposed North Dakota Access Pipeline, the clash between police and activists heated up Sunday night as temperatures cooled to dangerous levels.
Protesters, many of whom are from the Standing Rock Indian Reservation, have been demonstrating against the oil pipeline that would pass through North Dakota's Lake Oahe, a sacred burial site and major source of drinking water for the Standing Rock Sioux.

Really??

Regardless of what you think about the protests, there's something wrong with police harming people for private interests like an oil pipeline.

This should bother all of us.

Disgusting thing to do. Wonder what birther boy Trump will say now that it exposed that he is financially invested in the pipeline.

I'm pro-Indian but I think the protesters are out of line here and souring the Indian's reputation.

That's shameful. I really feel for the Native Americans that live on that reservation.

But the protestors are attacking private property. The police's whole job is to protect private property with force if necessary.

I am not against oil. I am not against pipelines. I am against the government using it's muscle for a private business.

They weren't attacking if you watch the videos. The police sent people to the hospital over this. Look up Kevin Gilbertt on Facebook and watch the videos he filmed live, it's disgusting.

Some of them had guns, the tribal leaders asked them to back off for now. The last thing anyone needs is for this to escalate with the death of someone on either side.
