Making a big comeback! My client this morning said Happy Thanksgiving and I said to her the same with an " and a Merry Christmas" she got real loud and a big smile and said, "you too honey, you too!"
Everybody in my neighborhood is already putting up their Christmas lights. When I was growing up, not that long ago, you didn't see the decorations going up until after Thanksgiving. You also didn't have wall to wall Christmas music on the radio before Veterans Day and you didn't have malls putting up Christmas trees and holly before it was even Halloween.
The day after Thanksgiving or the weekend after was when a lot of people put up the outside decorations. We did that when I was a kid. The inside was day to day and the tree was usually a week before Christmas. Real trees, until my parents finally bought a fake one back in the late '60s. My former radio station back in Massachusetts starts playing Christmas carols Nov 1st, 24/7!! I used to be sick of them, just like commercials have me sick of Christmas before it even gets here!!

You said "isn't it nice that we can say that again?", so clearly you have been under the impression you have not been allowed to say it, which is completely untrue.
No, not under that impression, just saying that to the guy because he was so happy saying it. I am also not happy that the word "gay" no longer means "happy". I am upset that a rainbow no longer just a rainbow. Many little things like that.
Oh for chrysakes! Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Kwanzaa! Happy Chanukah! Let it go... stop and smell the balsam, enjoy the eggnog, listen for the jingle bells!
Merry Christmas... did you know Kwanzaa was made up by the Black Panthers?
I just stick with "Merry Hallowthanksmas"........I can start saying it in August.
