An oldie but goodie. So far a year later, it describes Trump to a T. Who would have thought therr would be this many parallels between Trump and Italy's ex prime minister?

Quote:
Ask Italian voters, who spent a total of nine years between 1994 and 2011 being governed by Silvio Berlusconi. Italy’s longest-serving prime minister, Berlusconi started out as a wealthy demagogue on the brink of bankruptcy, whose celebrity was — like Trump’s — rooted in both real estate and popular entertainment culture. Berlusconi presented himself as Italy’s strongman, speaking like a barman, selling demonstrably false promises of wealth and grandeur for all. He made the electorate laugh while stoking fears of communists and liberals stripping privileges and increasing taxes. Presaging Trump, the Italian media mogul cast himself as the only viable savior of a struggling nation: the political outsider promising to sweep in and clean up from the vanquished left and restore the country to its lost international stature. “I am the Jesus Christ of politics. I sacrifice myself for everyone,” Berlusconi said. Now we find Trump promising “to make America great again,” pledging to become the “greatest jobs president […] ever created.”

I doubt a lot of his fans know who Burlesconi is. He was also a raging loud mouth in Italy who engaged in his own "***** grabbing" allegedly.

Its the perfect comparison IMO. Berlusconi was an utterly corrupt disaster for Italy of course. He did NOTHING to make Italy great again.

The only difference is that Trump has the power over nukes. Its gonna be a swamp filled 4 years, thats for sure.

If Trump bans the Muslim Brotherhood that Obama supported in Egypt, he would ironically end up doing more for LGBT, Women, and Minorities than any Democrat.

So this guy got away with his populous message until the bottom of his agenda fell out ( after 17 years)..leading to a total crash. Hmm~~ Since you parallel Trump and Berlusconi ..are you suggesting a similar outcome?

Point is..Trump's agenda suggests spending ++++ and because HE believes his plan will increase incomes even though decreasing income thru further tax cuts..will lead to success.. hum Well...the voter's voted for this guy Trump..lets just see how happy they are within the next year or 2..because it's my recollection that memory span is rather short!! People want instant cures..Jobs by the millions and incomes for the voters to increase+++ pay less taxes..yet will bellyache when services don't step up ( tho unwilling to pay for them)..

Let's just see what Trumpet's believe after a few years of his decisions and laws..Could help or make things far worse..No one knows right now!

Judging from what anyone can read on this article, the jobs are not gonna come back. Trump isn't gonna do half of what he says

Orange flakes are very slow learners. Remember what Trump said during the campaign ... that he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and his supporters would still back him up. Berlusconi not only liked to grab 'em, he liked them at any age. Just like Trump.
