What she said wasn't that bad. Nothing I don't hear every time a school district is looking for a superintendent. Her clarification was much better than the initial statement.

The funny thing is that there was already a man of color leading the RNC, and an Hispanic attorney general, and a black female Secretary of State. But they were conservatives, so I guess they don't count.

She is explicitly racist. She's "out there fighting for all brown people", wants leadership that is anything but white, and claims that's what the Democratic base wants. How "bad" that is is a matter of opinion but I can understand how you would see it as nothing out of the ordinary.
