The combined efforts of Nikki Haley and former Governor, Carrol Campbell have turned what was once a sleepy backwater state into a powerful economic force that is now the envy of our peers. Her ability to maintain a steady hand under often extreme pressure has been her strongest asset. She has proven she can diffuse difficult situations with both dignity and grace. I have zero fears of her ability to perform the duties and requirements of UN Ambassador.

The road problems here in SC are something she often gets blamed for. Her stance is that until the state highway commission is answerable to oversight, she isn't going to give them the free reign to borrow money. That is one organization in serious need of attention to ending some of the rather questionable incestuous relationships with contractors. The state's roads are being addressed, albeit not as fast as some of us would like.

I'm more concerned about her replacement Governor, who is not nearly so willing to take such solid positions. Future comparison is likely to make her legacy look even better then it already does.
So saying I dislike her, is showing ignorance.

Your complete intolerance toward a different opinion is showing.

In all fairness, all I said was "I dislike her, but my opinion doesn't matter much" and people here go nuts.

LOL

It's hardly going to be that easy. I absolutely refused to vote for Hillary. I am not the only one. If the (D)'s ran someone even a wee bit decent I would consider voting for them over Pence. And by decent, I mean almost anyone.

I know very little about Haley. As of right now, I would consider her.

I can safely say Gov Moonbeam is, "based on my experience", a total buffoon. That isn't an unfounded bias, since I lived in CA during his original reign of absurdity. I couldn't care less about who or what you like, but do try to your support your position lucidly. You haven't given voice to any reason for your choice. That being said, you are quite free to base your opinions on The Farmers Almanac, I-Ching, Wooly Worms or plain old simple minded ignorance. Why?.... Murica!!!

If you want to know who the first woman president will be, I think you know now. And I would not be surprised if Trump declines a second term and she runs in for years. Mark this thread and bump it in four.
I don't think she's very popular with a significant portion of the GOPs' current rank and file.

A couple of reasons spring to mind.

Smart unification move by Trump. His willingness to nominate folks who bashed and criticized him is smart. Haley has a lot of the right characteristics to be a future presidential candidate. Depends how she does in her new role (assuming she accepts.)

And that is completely fair. I have mixed feelings about her, but I am curious to see how she does. She does represent one of the great possible ironies I'd like to see happen some day: The GOP presidential nominee being both female and a minority. That'd be just awesome! Better yet, an all female election year. I'd rather see Condoleezza Rice for that, as far as the Republican side of things go.

Seriously what do you have against Haley? You hate all Republicans? You hate Indians? She stole your boyfriend in college?

It's odd for anybody to have much an opinion of any kind on somebody else's governor unless following South Carolina politics is a hobby of yours or something.
