Yea time to fix inner cities. Jobs. After school programs. Good schools. Give these people hope.

What NYC and LA need is HOUSING. Forget all the other stuff. We need housing. Boston and San Francisco need housing too. It's gotten totally unaffordable and something needs to be done.
We should only accept women and kids under the age of 15. Everyone else, good luck facing the Assad and the Russians. The bright side is, 40 nine year olds await you in the afterlife. Im sure thats more than enough motivation for you guys

Refugees, thats more problematic, I think we would all, as humans, not want to turn our backs on another... but like we are agreeing, there is so much else to do, too...

OK - how about this. Once President Trump takes over, he starts rounding up illegal immigrants who are convicted criminals and deporting them. (Many will try to return, and have to be deported again, or maybe a new law would just allow them to be shot outright.)
OK, so next the govt starts rounding up all the rest of the illegals living here and loading them onto trains and buses to ship 'em back south. There will need to be a new agency created - the "Dept of Peace and Prosperity."
The next step would be to register all muslims and anyone who's grandparents came from a foreign country. Those people would need to turn in their guns and their freedom of movement and association would be restricted to certain zones. Failure to comply the troublemakers would be arrested and sent to reeducation work camps where they could be productive for the good of the nation.
It would be reasonable to also register other undesirables like those filthy gays and jews. I mean it is for the good of the country. Surely nobody would object to that. Such people can't be trusted with guns, so they would need to surrender any as the State would protect them.
As the national fervor takes root in a groundswell of public patriotism - "America for Americans" - those criminally undesirable groups should be rounded up enmasse and sent to the work camps until a final solution can be carried out.
