Uganda to shut down Zuckerberg-funded schools - CNN.com

Being wealthy and just giving money and act like you care may be nice to some liberals but doesn't work if there is no effort to show that you really care for the kids.

Wait, if we're following the liberal playbook, shouldn't the failure of a school mean that it's a success except that it just needs more money? So shouldn't Zuckerberg just give more money, unless he hates kids. Actually, unless he hates black kids, is what I meant to say?

I doubt any of us will come anywhere near qualified to speak on this. Maybe the government is right. Governments in Africa are pretty much known to be pretty corrupt though.

Yeah, it's called volunteer tourism. I see it all the time. Well intentioned trips to "make the world better" that are ultimately just temporarily covering a much larger problem up by throwing money at it.

I wouldn't' say it's a liberal exclusive problem though. I wouldn't politicize it at all to be frank. That seems unnecessary. But I've seen religious institutions do it, various non-profits, and just individuals not looking for political validation do it. It's not political in the usual simpletons left-right idea of how politics works.

Maybe Trump University will open a campus there?

Maybe Bill Clinton would consider a chancellorship to the school for only $18 million.

Oh for crying out loud. This is all about homosexuality.

Back when in the 1800's , the British relied heavily on Christian missionaries to help colonize Uganda and " civilize" the people while taking the resources. This is the playbook of colonization.

They managed to turn a relatively open and accepting culture into homophobes. Men were routinely stoned to death. Women were gang raped to show them what they were missing. This crap persists.

Fast forward to recent legislation that called for life imprisionment of homosexuals as well as those who protected them. Government created propaganda to teach the masses how to spot a homosexual and people who protected them. People were rewarded to reporting those suspected of homosexuality.

European, Canadian and US groups got involved and advocated for human rights. Different Christian brands got involved. Some fanned the flames. Others took more tolerant positions. The pope weighed in. Relations between Uganda p, the US, Canada and some European countries deteriorated.

In the middle of this, come the wealthy do gooders from the US who want to educate the poorest of the poor. Ugandan Government decided that the intent of this education was to homosexualize Uganda's children. Government and for profit educators accused the Gates/ Zuckerburg initiative of teaching porn.

The Gates/ Zuckerburg group claims they do not teach health or sex education as it is illegal in Uganda. Government pushes back and decides to close the schools.

Absolutely none of us know what's going on in Uganda as it relates to this situation, no different than most of the Ugandan people.

No, following the liberal playbook they should just increase their minimum wages which would solve all their problems.

Just brainstorming here, but couldn't Uganda just allow illegal immigration, which I am told generates money? Then they would be set for life.

I think it's funny that Zuckerberg and Gates sponsored a FOR PROFIT school... that means they are probably going to get their money back... I guess even they didn't believe in the nonprofit....
