Americans are taught to hate Communism so much, which is absurd.
Communism is simply an ideology that does not work well in the real world. It has some positive aspects, especially compared to traditional societies of old Russia, old China etc. At least it advocates humans are all born equal and fights against racism and sexism. Marxism is not the same as Leninism, Stalinism or Maoism either.
Yeah Communists are atheists, but nowadays many young people in the west (and in the world) are atheists anyway.
communism is impractical , at odds with human nature which is curious , questioning , as well as greedy and self serving , it doesnt work well on almost any level bar perhaps militarily where control and lack of individuality is desirable
it is not anymore immoral than capitalism however , capitalism is great for those who have but it will only ever be great for a minority ( however large ) of the worlds population , in order for everyone in europe and north america to be able to afford an I phone , you need cheap labour which is exploited in asia or wherever
What kind of Bizzaro World do we live in when we have tons of people running around calling Trump a fascist but a PM of Canada calls Castro a friend instead of the totalitarian dictator that he really was.
A world moving toward civil war.......on a world wide scale?
Every revolution has losers (who may be good people). You think Louis XVI liked the French revolution? That revolution gave birth to the first French Republic and accelerated the development of capitalism in France, however many people also lost their lives. Some nobelmen became beggars, and fine ladies became prostitutes. That's what a revolution causes.
post indepdendance in ireland in 1922 , many british land owners left the country as the new state set about breaking up the properties which belonged to the landed gentry ( land commission )
while not within a million miles of communist cuba , govement policy for the first few decades post independence involved huge state intervention in the economy , this is often nescessery when the majority of a population is very poor , the power of the state needs to be harnassed in order to bring about radical change and quickly , the people demand it , the people of cuba wanted castro and his comrades to make sweeping changes , i have no doubt many good wealthy cubans decided to flee to florida but the majority remained
castros sin was that he went RED in a location so close to the usa , in world terms he was a pretty unremarkable dictator in terms of ruthlessness
[quote=Chowhound;46316974]I agree, and you know what, Mexico actually has stricter immigration laws than Canada does, yet we want to enforce ours here and we're somehow labeled racists and bigots because of it. LOL, some people on this forum are truly functioning idiots. I can't comprehend how some people can't see past their own bubble and into the bigger global picture.[/quot
Friends and strangers tell me I'm better looking, plus I know murderous dictator when I see one.
Oh really? Americans would prefer the guy who funded those azzhats who flew planes into your towers killing over 3000 of you? I get it...cause after all; they've got oil.
