Since obama continued and even doubled down on most of bush's dreadful wars and policies and yet bush remains a pariah,I'd say Obama has tastier Kool Aid and/or less astute followers
I point that out quite often... reinsertion into Iraq after championing withdrawal his predecessor negotiated, then Libya, then Syria...
Prediction. Someday his image will be on US Currency
It's possible, in a generation or two. But not because he's popular or was even a mediocre president but solely because of the color of his skin. He might be on a bill or a coin but only because he was the first non white president.
If the polls were correct and Obama was as popular as they indicate, then why is it that Democrats have been shown the door steadily in every election since 2008? They are about to lose the Louisiana senate race, too, so the trend continues.
Asking if someone is popular or asking for an approval/disapproval rating is not the same as asking voters who they would vote for. He could not be reelected.
He will go down in history as a Black president. Nothing more.
....and sadly we may come to look nostalgically back on his presidency....
In some ways yes. I certain prefer President Obama over future President Trump(I voted for Gary Johnson. I don't like Clinton or Trump). If Trump's presidency becomes the police state/nightmare that I think it could be, then I will look back on other Presidents will nostalgia. I don't look to the last part of the Bush administration fondly. However, I will take that over what could be of Trump.
