It all comes down to how and while there may be some similar ideas I doubt most of their "how's" are compatible. Sanders proposals are punitive and combative, Trump will take a path of working with business to produce an environment that they can thrive in.
Really? Here is Sanders' proposal. Do you support the meek and pansy approach or do you support propsals with real teeth like this:
Quote:
1. Preventing companies that outsource jobs from receiving federal contracts, tax breaks, grants or loans.
Last year, United Technologies received over $6 billion in federal contracts, making it the seventh largest recipient of federal contract funds. Over the past 15 years, this Fortune 500 company has used loopholes in the tax code to shelter more than two-thirds of its $38 billion in profits from federal taxation. It has also received over $50 million in corporate welfare from the Export-Import Bank. Under this legislation, companies would be barred from receiving future contracts, tax breaks, grants or loans from the federal government if they have announced plans to outsource more than 50 jobs overseas.
Funny thing is how many Bernie supporters will jump up and down when Bernie talks about tariffs, but condemn Trump when he does the same thing.
I agree it is hilarious. Just like how Trump supporters will jump up an down when Trump talks about tariffs, but condemn Bernie when he does the same thing. lol
Trump has said that he will slap a 35% tax on imported goods from outsourcers. Do you disagree with Trump (and Sanders)?
Mike, if Trump can get Carrier to stay in Indiana, in a very similar way that Sanders is proposing to do the same, will you give him credit where credit is due?
Ford is already saying they're going to leave their Lincoln MKX production in Kentucky rather than moving to Mexico. Trump had a hand in that. Trump has Apple exploring the possibility of moving US based iphone production back to the US. It's only been three weeks since the election & he's not even in office yet. If he can continue this type of thing, where every week or two a major manufacturer agrees to stay rather than leave or starts looking at moving back, that would be a very good thing right?
Plenty of other things to hate on Trump for, but this is one where everyone should come together for the good of the country right?

Earlier this week, Ford CEO Mark Fields said Trump's election has not changed the company's plans. Reuters reports:
" 'We're going forward with our plan to move production of the Ford Focus to Mexico, and importantly that's to make room for two very important products we'll be putting back into Michigan plants,' Fields said in an interview on the sidelines of the Los Angeles Auto Show. 'There will be no job impact whatsoever with this move.'
"Ford Chairman Bill Ford Jr. said last month he met with Trump. Ford has countered Trump's criticism, saying the company, founded by his great-grandfather, makes more cars and trucks in the United States than any other automaker.
"Fields said with U.S. gasoline prices so low, 'it's very difficult for us to be able to make money on a vehicle produced in the U.S.' in the small car segment. If Ford decided to build the Focus small car line in the United States, and had to raise the price, 'we wouldn't sell the vehicle.' "
Not only did Trump take credit for something that wasn't ever going to happen, he ignores that the offshoring of jobs to Mexico is also going forward.

Yes, but we need real pro-worker legislation, not just a factory here or there who claim they are staying (while gutting wages and benefits?) and thanking the dear leader for his hard work and the free publicity the company gets.
If Trump actually moves forward with Sanders in creating new trade deals championing the worker over corporate greed, then yes, he deserves credit. Will he get Ryan, McConnel and the other puppets of the corporate elite to agree, that is the question. But Trump is the leader, so he must take a lead and use the bully pulpit.
Bernie the misguided fool wants to make products more expensive for Americans. Please retire.
Many of the products made overseas are really not that cheaper as has been shown on many items
The donor class is the ones that reap the excess profits via the stock market
It only takes a cursory glance at some of these products and their stocks on Wall Street to tell the tale
It costs 200 bucks to make and iphone and 5 dollars to manufacture with labor included in that cost
They Charge 650 bucks to consumers
The savings is going to Wall Street, not you
Ever take a hard look at the price for Apple Stocks?
Our trade policies only benefit a small subset in the finance industry
Only 50% of Americans are involved in stocks and only the top 1% really have any say in it since they control and own the majority of the stocks
If you want to look where the inequality in this country is, it would be in the financial sector and that is thanks to Globalism and Slave Labor.
