Get real! Trump could never sustain himself with only one bold-faced lie per half-hour. I'll bet he tells lies in his dreams. I wonder if he has a reverse fact-checker on his cellphone, to catch any stray truth that might slip through? You can't be too careful about that, if you're going to be Trump. How would his worshipers be able to trust him, if he ever let any facts sully his proclamations? Even a broken clock tells the true time, twice a day and is more veritable than him.

Exactly this.

Anyone who has been paying any attention at all for the last 30 years has witnessed this fool in the news and on TV being himself....

And now he is 70 years old and he's going to "change his stripes" ??....doubt it.

A 70yr old man who has never held any elected or government position or job of any kind is going to waltz into Washington and fix an incredibly corrupt and broken system?

A system that is self serving and is much bigger than any one person?

A system that is specifically designed to keep the president in check?

A system that Trump himself has used to his benefit?

I doubt it....

And I doubt his supporters can see the forest through the trees.

His supporters know that the one to fix that stuff was not Hillary or GOP insider. They voted their only other option.

If you want to win you have to provide a valid alternative.

I know some people who voted Trump who aren't mad about Romney. It's not as if everyone who voted for him for exactly the same reasons or thinks exactly alike.

This isnt just about trump its about populism, anger at globalism and multiculturalism and its happening with populist movements across the world, especially in Europe . I doubt anybody that voted for trump worships trump . Its about crap like today with a terrorist attack from an asinine immigration/refugee policy and globalism and this stupid multiculturalism , lost jobs to globalism and atrocious trade deals and stupid military interventionism around the world

A huge alienation from coastal liberal elites and Manhattan/Hollywood media and the same DC swamp and a globalist corporate culture that is awful

Under obama

Highest percentage of Americans on Food Stamps and Medicaid

Racial Division at all-time high, supporting black live matters, race riots

Pulling troops out of Iraq and letting ISIS take over, Syria and Iraq fiasco and Increasing tensions with russia

Calling ISIS a “JV” team, Benghazi, nato attacking Libya and increasing confrontation with russia all over the baltics and the world.

Constant hacks of American security systems, wikileaks, assange and kimdotcom and and so many libertarians despise obama and hillary

Hopeless inner cities , basically his home district is a good example, a Chicago war zone, increasing racial tensions all over. Obama hasnt changed anything in america for the better racially for sure.

The economy only benefiting certain people. outsourcing of jobs, declining wages etc.

Massive economic inequality

Why dont people really start to look at the mediocrity of the left and the democratic party ( and mainstream conservatism and republicans as well ) with globalism and lost jobs, open borders, multiculturalism ,terrorism and an interventionist foergin policy, etc Its not just here in America, populism is happening all over Europe and the world

Even Bernie Sanders criticized open borders and immigration and globalism

It is kind of laughable that she goes on a tirade for Romney and then says it's up to Trump.
As intended, she planted the seed with the media why Trump will not nominate Romney.

The populist right wing movement is happening all over the world, its a movement, not just a few leaders. If trumps advisers and inner circle (his family) turn him into a mainstream republican and betray his campaign promises , its going to be a mess. He is already being advised to condemn and renounce the alt right and they certainly arent going to be the ones out "protesting" ( ie rioting) his inauguration and most of his 4 or 8 year term.

10,000's of thousands of people didnt turn out for trump rallies because of mainstream romney/ryan/mconnell Republicans, diverse cabinets, the ny times and nikki haley, outreach, etc etc

Today the terrorist attack in Columbus Ohio is a good example of the kind of thing the populist /right/ trump election came to power with, immigration and terrorism needs to be addressed immediately after the inauguration, should be addressed today or tomorrow at latest by the president elect
Excellent post....I owe you another rep.

It is reported that Trump is going to meet with Romney again today. What the hell is he thinking? One gaff (the first Romney interview) may have blown over if not repeated, but his still toying with this snake is a grave concern and a grave error. He risks losing his people even before the inauguration.

A Romney pick is political suicide. Even if this is some kind of revenge game solely for the purpose of putting Romney down in the end, it reflects very poorly on Trump's judgement. As you correctly point out, this kind of nonsense is not what his supporters bargained for.

Then why did Obama appoint a unmeritorious political hack in 2008?

In spite of what you say, the facts on the ground clearly show time and time again that cabinet and diplomatic appointments are largely based on political favors and manipulation, and much less so on technical competence.

The last thing we need is a standard-bearer of the 30-year Bush/Clinton cabal again near the helm of power through the back door, just like Obama did in 2008, by far his worst mistake.
