The devil is in the details.
Why didn't our Democratic President do anything about it? Because he's spent 8 years golfing and race hustling. And that's pretty much it.

It's a start, or as trump says a "win". If he brings the energy he displayed on the campaign trail to the White House I think we can expect much larger wins for our country in the future. Dreaming of waking up to read "Apple plans to open plant in Ohio" headlines.

Be honest.

The facts say that the jobs being gained are primarily low paying service type jobs with minimal benefits (health insurance, 401K match, etc...)

The manufacturing jobs that we are losing have higher pay and better benefits than the average job gained.

This is one company and as it turns out 1000 jobs, very vague on what the "deal" was but you can bet that taxpayers will be supporting this decision. There are no fairy tales when it comes to business.

This is one company that had public attention throughout the election, good publicity for Trump.

So what next, bring back Apple I-Phones from China and I will be a believer

Is that right? Can I see the documentation that supports your statements, please? Thanks!

Exactly!

1,000 jobs is a good start, but how many jobs has Carrier already sent overseas? Anyway, this deal has to be approved by Congress since it involves taxes. The POTUS cannot "make deals" to give corporations tax breaks. As you wrote, taxpayers are probably going to be footing the bill.

I was responding to the "1,000 jobs saved" thread when this hasn't happened yet. Approximately 15 million jobs have been created during the Obama presidency. Let's see how many millions of jobs Trump creates.

How do you suppose the "roughly half" who are reportedly still losing their jobs feel about it?

Trump and Mike Pence, Indiana’s governor and the vice-president elect, plan to appear at Carrier’s Indianapolis plant to announce they’ve struck a deal with the company to keep roughly half of the jobs in the state, according to officials with the transition team as well as Carrier.

They finally have an advocate in the Oval Office starting officially 1/20, but already helping save US jobs.

Are you opposed to tax breaks?

p.s. There is no one else "footing the bill" when a company or individual keeps more of their own money.
