I wouldn't either. But many would. In essence, any time you strive for anything you're trying to produce inequality. You're trying to do better than the masses. Why would anyone strive for anything if they're doomed to equality?
Because you should "celebrate diversity" by being exactly like everyone else?
Time will tell on whether and how comfy Trump gets with Putin. I think that for Trump the bottom line will always be how any situation will benefit him and his business interests. That's who he has been for 70 years and I don't see how he could change that outlook at this point.
So, I think he'll cuddle up to Communists if it benefits him personally, and I think his ardent supporters will twist themselves into pretzels to rationalize it.
He may, and he will get no support from me if he does. I have always been weary of his progressive past.

As an ex-KGB he is extremely dangerous and should be held with extreme caution so I agree that anyone who thinks kindly of him is an idiot, just as ignorant as the people who go on about Castro.
Here is a guy who never held elections as promised and who yielded power only when he became infirm and then only to his own brother. A guy who did not shy away from summary executions or show trials. A guy who was clearly a tin pot dictator.
Yet scores of dupes love him or defend him. Faced with his record of brutality, they babble something about healthcare or offer sophomoric defenses based the notion of two wrongs make a right.

People who are not consistent in their ideology are just liars looking for a better deal. That is the problem with so called "Americans" today.
Keep an eye on your fellow Trump supporters.
They are mysteriously silent about his appointment of Steve Mnuchin to head the Treasury Department. That appointment is the exact opposite of what Trump said he would do and I haven't heard a peep of dissent from any of his supporters.
