I have never believed that Melania is an air-head; however, I think that Mr. Trump does nothing to disabuse the nation of such a notion. He presents her as eye candy, and America believes him. That says much more about him and us than it does about her.

Being that the First Lady is a "honorary" role, it do not mind that this one is actually "hot".
Truly what is anyone's expectations for Melania Trump?
To present herself as an advocate against Childhood obesity? et al. All what Mrs. Obama did. I really don't expect her to do much more than that. She'll need to support Donald though, and hopefully she can keep his fingers away from the Twitter and Facebook accounts.
A happy face. Well, It's nice that you can smile at Don the Con's tweets and think they're cute. For many of us, they (and most of his other comments) are a non-stop source of profound embarrassment.

That means nothing. European immigrants commonly speak several languages because of where they were raised. No one has started calling her names like we have seen the past eight years. What has she actually accomplished?

Cons are so shallow that they think someone is great because they are beautiful. That's their only requirement of women. I personally will be very sorry to see that slitty-eyed, plastic made-over, porn-star creature in the White House. I hope she DOES stay in her tower and disappears from view. I wouldn't be surprised if she takes a four-year-long vacation in her home country. She has nothing to offer this country, certainly.

This creature has lived here for decades and still can't speak proper English. But, that's OK, right? After all, she's beautiful! Cons only requirement. I think she didn't even know the meanings of half the words in her speech. It was pretty obvious.
Anyway, sure, she's 'what America needs right now'! Apparently, America needs two empty-headed narcissistic, money-grubbing people in the White House. I don't agree, but what do I know?

I don't think Melania is an air-head at all. I can't stand trump, but I do think that, for all his blowhard sexist tendencies, he ultimately likes independent, intelligent women, which I bet Melania is. Trump will NEVER let anyone know that, of course.
I don't think she wanted anything to do with any of this, and it's not fair to expect her to give up her life in NYC and follow her husband around on his never-ending ego trip, gazing up at him lovingly all the while. I admire her for having retained her independence throughout this process. Would we be so quick to condemn a First Gentleman if he didn't give up his life and follow his wife around? I doubt it. So, it's time we give up this antiquated notion of the proper place of the FLOTUS; many "first ladies" of other countries continue on with their own active professions.
On the other hand, I don't understand this Melania-worship, either. She has done nothing in a national public capacity (yet), to earn it. But, she's "hot," and some people, both men and women, seem to think that's all that matters in a woman.
Either way, I wish people would leave Melanie Trump alone. She deserves neither condemnation nor adoration.

I disagree because we are funding her life in New York. Security for the Trumps is now $3 million dollars a day. If she wants to remain in New York, Trump should fund that. President Obama was attacked for $70 million in seven years for all his vacations. That wouldn't even pay for a month of security for Trump and he's not even inaugurated yet. I get her wanting to keep her life in New York but remember, we are paying for it. If this were the Obama's costing $3 million a day, the GOP would be carrying torches in the streets. That's over a billion dollars a year. I'm amazed by the silence about this. Where is the screaming from Hannity and Limbaugh now?

You're absolutely right on all points. Trump SHOULD damn well pay for the security, and, yes, conservatives would have had a FIT if Michelle Obama had chosen to remain in Chicago on the public's dime. Can you imagine the brouhaha? It's but one example of the hypocrisy of Republicans and the rationalizations of Trumpsters.
